She was in an old age home and in a very bad condition as reported in some article. It is then that Asha Bhonsle brought her home and then she fell sick and died.

Burman era sure came to an end as there is no progeny to take it forward.

Dear Maya

She was not with Asha ji, but placed in a house which used to be recording place of Pancham as well.
Though Ashaji wanted to take her home, some how things didn't materialise.

Many thanks every one for reading & responding...

At this juncture I would like to mention a story which came in media long time ago..
When Pancham saab passed away, after few days obeying a ritual Ashaji cooked all favorite dishes of Pancham to be offered to crows along with his fav whisky.
Crows who were hardly few meters away didn't take interest in the delicious food.
Asha ji was very disturbed....
finally she turned towards the sky and with folded hands told that Pancham be sure I'll take full care of your mother in your absence thats a promise, within no time crows pounded on the food, emptied the vessels and fled away
