I am a financial analyst with experience mostly working in the Middle East and Europe. I would like to immigrate to Canada but have would really like to find a job in advance so I am preparing applications to send to some companies. Any suggestions what to really focus on in these applications?

Find out as much as possible about your area in Canada. In preparing the application use the terminolgy that Canadians are familiar with. Don't scare them with stuff they never head of (an article I found useful here is http://www.uniivaa.com/91-hey-ya-super-star-do-you-want-a-job-in-canada-if-so-then-don-t-spurn-the-commonplace).
