BizAsia: Priyanka Chopra to play Kalpana Chawla?

Priyanka Chopra is definitely an international star now and, even when it comes to Bollywood films, she doesn't seem short of interesting offers. News has it that she has been approached to play Indian astronaut Kalpana Chawla in a forthcoming biopic.

Chawla was from Haryana and became the first Indian astronaut in space. She spent 31 days in the shuttle with six other crew members. They all sadly lost their lives when the shuttle disintegrated over Texas in its voyage back to Earth.

The film will be Indian cinema's first to explore the space theme. Chopra is expected to decide once she is back in India post the completion of her Quantico' shoot.

Chopra will be seen next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani' which is slated for release on 18th December.
