First response...more to come.
"Darling I love you but not so fast...Or I'm curvaceous, be slow". Love it Jen. 😃
I will add to this later. 😛 😛 😛
As God is their witness, their motto...Semper Fidelis.

More thoughts...

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
--- William Blake

Mr. Qazi, dammit...he had to call and ruin a MATURE moment. PG 21?? Anyway...

Jen, 2+2=4, no one is going to dispute that...except in SF world it actually is more like 2+2=Between 3 & 5, kinda like platform 9 3/4. You have my head spinning wheels with all the breadcrumbs you have woven in the story from "call home to echoes of life to willows skimming the lake surface". The play with names, dates, places, events etc is brilliant and looking forward to see them play out in the coming updates. 😊

Anita is such a pip. She makes you smile and let out a painful sigh. Nice interlude between KAA.
Ooo..a flipper fiance with a cozy lap...nice nap place. 😃
Alas, priorities have to be observed and it's off to US and back to school for Anita.

"If souls had nationalities, I know mine would be Indian".
"In that case, my soul would be standing...or floating..in a long line in New Delhi waiting to be naturalized too".

Interesting sentiments from both. Origins, converged paths and a common destination knows no boundaries or borders, one just never knows how they get aligned.

A picturesque road trip to Srinagar, uneventful, with a strategic stop, an eager groom, a bride speculating about what to wear and a past moving forward...a photo taken in Dublin, Ireland. The world is such a small place these days. God is merciful and my primary elation is for Khushi and Arnav on this special day.

Cute road signs...loved how you curved them in. More later about going slow and curves.😃

Shantivan, home at last, but they entered without ink and vermilion...I won't tell Astha.
The scene in Khushi's room while she was getting ready and Arnav walking in, the bindi and gentle hugs was so dreamy and I totally concur with Khushi's words, "It's more beautiful than my wildest dreams".
A diamond chandelier set by Tiffany & Co. and here I was, expecting heirloom jewelry!!
Khushi is about sentiments first and always. Her desire and yearning for their immediate family's presence is understandable, but not feasible or practical to be met across time zones and deep down in her heart she knows it.

Jen, absolutely loved, loved the dreamy magnificent breath taking sacred setting for the occasion.
The wedding rituals started with ancient Vedic chants, their sound and inflection seeming to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature and all it's elements.
Khushi's silent deep emotional glow, Arnav's gaze on her and a million unadorned vows and promises erupting from the depth of his soul, the first twilight stars, the saath pheras by the holy fire, a liberal pinch of vermilion made my day. It was absolutely perfect for them. Totally personal, private and untainted by any negative energy around them. ❤️
(Jen, I intentionally left out you know what because it will never make my day...even in fictional world.)

Back home all blessed and legal. I hope OP has a few days off giving the newly weds total freedom to run around naked in any room they choose.
Yeah baby..."Darling I know you love me but not so fast...Or I'm curvaceous, be slow", "Oh baby, you have no idea about the things going on in my mind right now". Super sizzle babes!!
The walk up the stairs with the flowing saree is so filmy and cute. Nice bedroom and looks like Arnav was busy earlier with the "wedding night" ambience. Pre pleated saree...funny...a future ban on those and restock with extra long ones. 😉
These two truly are a nuclear explosion waiting to happen. This night just oozed with smooth, deliberate, slow, erotic flow of burning hot undressing, caressing, kissing, nuzzling and joining of all of their feminine & masculine energies.
Very smooth scene. Kudos Jen. 👏

Back to the mundane chore...call home...and Khushi...gotta put the neclace on for Ma...besides chuckling silly, the thoughts through my mind would end the call really fast. Arnav tell her...just the necklace baby...nothing else...I am playing with my magical fingers!! 😛

I most likely am in the minority here with my opinion, but so be it. I am happy about the way the "marriage" came about without the family. Not that they are not important, they are, but each one is truly not in total "unconditional rejoice" mode and I would not want "just to show society" blessings for Khushi and Arnav.
I also believe there is more to the "coming of age" period for Khushi, Arnav, Akash +- others. I also think Sujata knows more then we think and memories can be a boon or a curse. We know they have met in their youth, what happened then? There is more to leak out of the "Leaky Cauldron".
Marriage is sacred, parents are important, children & their security and happiness are important, there are no guarantees in any situation,

Life is not a "Yash Chopra" or a "Steven Spielberg" or a "Merchant & Ivory".
Life is about choices and consequences!!

Be back later.

Jen, awesome update.

Their wedding, their suhaag raat, their journey, everything just felt so surreal.

Anu and Khushi always share this special bond and now seeing the same bond developing between Arnav and Anita, it feels so pleasant to read about it.

I think as years go by, it would be Arnav who would be the first one to come forward to help Anita whenever she needs help.

The road signs surely made me laugh. I cannot believe that they would name it like that but then as long as it catches the attention of the drivers and they slow down, its worth the try I guess.

Coming to the Facebook post showing the picture of a smiling Lavanya with Neville, what better wedding present for Arnav and Khushi than this one.

The fact that Lavanya has moved on itself is such a big relief particularly to Khushi and now she can enjoy her wedding and post wedding life without any guilt whatsoever.

And Lavanya too, for someone who had been obsessed with Arnav for years together, I guess a proper closure in the form of a divorce and the bitter truth that Arnav never loved her, made her move on in life in just a couple of months and is happy forgetting all the longing she had for that unreachable love she was yearning for.

I strongly think Khushi should show this picture to her parents and let them know too that Lavanya has indeed moved on and that their daughter is not a villain or a vamp. Maybe then Sujatha will understand how wrong she had been along.

Coming to their marriage, it was indeed beautiful. Getting married in a temple situated at the foothills of the sacred Himalayas, it felt like the Angels themselves were blessing them in the form of the pristine beauty surrounding the temple premises.

And their Suhaag raat. Jen, uff it was too hot to handle. The raw passion, the deep love for each other and the need to be one in every way was written very beautifully and aesthetically.

I am sure most of the readers must have drunk atleast one glass of ice cold water after reading this passionate lovemaking on their first night.😉

It was sweet of Aastha to gift a diamond set to Khushi on their wedding day.

Now coming to Navin and Sujatha, I will never understand them ever.

Times have changed so much even back in India. People are more open and accepting even inter caste marriages than earlier times like even a decade ago. I have seen this change in my own families and actually surprised how much times have changed.
Here in west, parents have gone even further ahead and they are accepting even same sex marriages and many countries have even legalized them.

What is Sujatha so angry about? That Arnav was married earlier and that her daughter fell for a married man. But it is done, Khushi loves Arnav and nothing can change the fact now. Arnav is divorced now and legally too he is free to marry anyone he wants.

Okay, agreed Khushi accompanied Arnav to Srinagar but Khushi told them the reason too. Navin also understood the sensitivity of the whole situation. And even though I do not agree with Navin's suggestion that they get married there immediately, they are doing that too immediately right on the first day.

Even after all this, Navin and Sujatha neither called Khushi and wished her good luck nor are they even interested to witness the wedding.

Technology has improved so much now, you can literally watch what is happening in other part of the world through facetime or skype.

Khushi is their baby, and which parent does not want to witness their daughter's wedding. I am so saddened that they did not even wish to see it.

If they had asked, Arnav would have asked someone to show them the wedding process through his cellphone.
How can they just say to Arnav and Khushi, marry there and thats it.

I am so disappointed with them as parents.

Now eager to see how things turn out once they return back to US.

Nights in White Satin...

Shhh...

"Ships that pass in the night, and speak each other in passing, Only a signal shown and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of life, we pass and speak one another, Only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence."

The above lines of Longfellow's poem almost came true in the case of Arnav & Khushi... But aren't we glad & thankful that they didn't.

As you rightly said...

"Who could have imagined that a chance encounter at an airport would turn into a journey of a life time? Who could have imagined that two ships passing in the night would one day find their paths converged and leading to the same common destination." -- Simply poetic! But this is what I call destiny. :) When things are meant to be, the chips just fall in line. Thus, two souls, being complete strangers, came together at the most unexpected yet opportune times, not once, not twice, but thrice in a row!! Serendipity certainly wasn't leaving anything to chance for them to meet. LOL And forced Dr. Raizada to acknowledge even through a thick haze of pain & alcohol induced numbness, that there was indeed something rather special about this certain Dr. Gupta. ;) Something that even Arnav acknowledged once to Aastha, that he did not go looking for Khushi, rather serendipity brought her to him... And Arnav being the smart guy that he is, did not waste any time on following up on his instincts... His instincts guided him correctly to believe,"It has to be love, what else could it be... ??"

Once he was able to detect his feelings for the lovely Dr. Khushi Gupta, there was no looking back... He realized soon that his life suddenly did not seem all that bleak anymore. There was definitely a silver lining to the heavy dark clouds looming upon his horribly messed up life. There was indeed a faint light at the end of long dark tunnel...

Khushi, on the other hand, was ecstatic to again run into the extraordinarily handsome hunk whose aesthetically chiseled profile had reminded her of Roman Emperors seen on ancient coins and had dazzled her once. She could not believe her luck, at having run into him again at the airport, but was soon left feeling peeved at his total lack of interest in her... Not only disinterest but also slight disdain of her & her motives when she like a good Samaritan had gone to return his book to him... His cold voice & suspicious looks had more than hurt her tender heart...

But his slightly friendly overtures at Security, had again made her heart soar & forgiven him for his earlier aloofness... Not seeing him upon landing at Delhi airport had made her wonder about the famous lines above of two ships passing in the night...

But luckily for them both, serendipity wasn't about to give up on the brusque, uncommunicative, and unyielding Dr. Raizada so easily... It dropped the lovely Dr. Gupta right into his lap practically from where there was no choice for him to but notice & be enthralled by the charming, vivacious, beautiful & compassionate girl that Khushi is... He was a goner before he even knew it...

Though their love story was hardly a walk in the park, they both endured through the numerous ups & downs, twists & turns, heart breaks & bittersweet reconciliation and reaffirmed their desire & vows to spend the rest of their lives together rather than apart.

Finally, after numerous struggles, Khushi found herself just where she wanted to be, that is, right beside Dr. Raizada as his partner for life. Although, the lack of communication from her stubborn mother did bring out the odd frown every now & then and marred her otherwise perfect day... But then, life is never a bed of roses, it comes, perfectly equipped with all the thorns for us to cherish & feel blessed about the things we do have.

Even though, "Her life seemed to be thundering ahead with twists, turns and occurrences completely out of line with what she'd previously imagined or dreamed about. However, her heart was at peace hearing the familiar cadence of his voice, feeling his warm presence beside her and listening to him discussing the day's plans with Mr. Bhat."

Relaxing in the company of the beloved & sharing a joke with them after all the trials & tribulations that life has dealt him Arnav cannot help but appreciate his stroke of good fortune of having Khushi as his soon-to-be-bride...

Arnav turned to look at her. Their gazes dissolved and blended into a contiguous warmth. Mirth slowly melted into a simmering awareness of the present moment, a gentle savoring of their togetherness. A warm breeze to chase the last vestiges of winter away from their souls.

"Is that what love does to you?, Arnav wondered... Hallelujah! Yes! Dr. Raizada, most definitely so...

Love not only makes one benevolent, but it also empowers one with deep insight about one's beloved... Although, Khushi had never voiced her guilt to Arnav again, he knew instinctively, that in one tiny corner of Khushi's compassionate heart rested a teeny weeny guilt about Lavanya... Perhaps, it was something he too could now feel towards Lavanya just by feeling so blessed to be so happy in love... It was a stroke of luck to find Lavanya's news on his FB page... Sharing the piece of news put their guilt ridden hearts to rest to let go of the last vestiges of guilt residing in their compassionate hearts.

"What he was about to share with her, he realized instinctively, would release her happiness from the last shackles holding it back. And just because she was the person she was, it would make her happiness more complete.

They looked at the picture together, their eyes glowing with satisfaction, their hearts expanding with benevolence."

"A thought crossed Khushi's mind but she decided to save it for a later day..." Hmmm, I wonder what that is??? 🤔

Reaching their destination, Arnav welcomed Khushi to his home & hearth with a loving gesture & words...

"Arnav picked Khushi's hand from her lap and pressed his lips against it's knuckles.

"Welcome home, Khushi", he said huskily, his eyes conveying the implicit import of his words."

The wedding was surreal to say the least... A private ceremony during the twilight hours with the majestic Pir Panjal range as the backdrop in a beautiful valley described by many as heaven on earth, lent a splendid aura to an otherwise ethereal setting. A perfect locale for a perfect union of two souls who were joined together in holy matrimony for this life & seven more lives to come...

"Khushi's head was covered and bowed as she kept her eyes fixed on the fire, it's glow accentuating the silent, deep emotions that played on her face.

And Arnav kept his gaze on her, unable to veer it away, a million unadorned vows and promises erupting from the depth of his soul."

What seemed like a simple act to Arnav, held an ocean of meaning for Khushi... Proud to be wearing the sacred red powder in Arnav's name is an honor only a married woman knows & appreciates. Arnav realizing the depth of her feelings for this simple ritual performed it with the just right reverence...

"Reminded of his mother's memorable words about blue ink and vermillion, his mouth quirked with humor. However, when he met Khushi's eyes and saw them swimming with tears, he realized the depth of meaning this simple moment held for her. It was with tender eyes that he performed the last rite."

Sealing the deal completely, Arnav tied the necklace around her slender neck that will pronounce to the world that Khushi belongs to him from now until eternity...

"With both drenched in the gold of dusk and their eyes lambent with a sublime sheen, he clasped the mangalsutra around her neck with gentle fingers."

Finally, reaching home & being welcomed by Om Prakash, was really sweet, although, I wish he had addressed Khushi as "Bhabhi" and not didi as that is what she really is to him... The ever thoughtful husband, cognizant about his new bride's sugar levels had the presence of mind to feed her before ravishing her himself... It would really do no good, if she were to pass out on him while having his wicked ways with her... 😉

But as the bride promised her brand new husband, we'll just have to see, who ravishes whom, won't we? 😉

Arnav carrying his bride in his arms as he crossed the threshold of his private lair set the tone for a dreamy & seductive night of pleasures. Arnav was completely intoxicated by his beautiful bride, she was finally his. And he ain't letting her out of his sight anytime soon. 😳

Do I really have to say now Jenny, how much I loved this update?? I leave that for you to decide... 😊

Sorry for my super late comment. My AD is just busy.

Simply superb chapter.
Finally Arnav and Khushi became Mr & Mrs Raizada.
Cherry on the top is Lavanya and NK picture Ireland and this definitely released any little shackles that are still holding Khushi's heart.
This is dream wedding coming true with the presence of just hearts and souls.
Their love making gave me jitters and awaiting for more of these passionate nights.

Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say any more

'Cause I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you.
.
.
.
Nights in White Satin - it was a very bittersweet chapter. And you set that tone from the very beginning. For sisters who share a bond as strong as Khushi and Anu do, it was sad how the latter could not be a part of the wedding. Or how she will have to rebound from the terrible heartbreak alone! But I am sure, she will appreciate the privacy and reprieve which Khushi...and Arnav have given her. I am not sure how I feel about the supposed relationship between Aman and Anu. Not just because of the age difference but also because through the chapters, I have always felt that Aman does not appreciate who Anita is - even after her contact name was edited. Also, I would not want Anu to be with somebody whose mother (if I am not mistaken) is as bitter as Aman's. (Yes, I am biased, very very biased) She deserves better for being the adorable self that she is.

Coming to the wedding, I am sorry but I could not see beyond how sad it was for Khushi to not have her mother's blessings. I just could not. It kept nagging me through the chapter and at that point, I had to take a pause and come back and read the chapter again. And I am glad that I did. I have never been a fan of weddings where people flock, eat and go. So! this intimate affair was much welcome. I love how you have showcased the difference in Arnav and Khushi's ideals. For him, it is about 'blue ink and vermilion,' but for her, the wedding ritual transcends both. It matters to him only when he realises how much it does to her!

Oh! I am not old enough to go and comment on the PG 21 part. :P But I shall tell you that I was looking forward to Champagne and Satin like skin! ;)

Also, I can't believe Khushi actually thought about the set at the end of it all - it sounded so weird, I actually laughed out loud.

Looking forward to reading more. I shall sit back with my Kehwa in hand and wait for them to enjoy their first day marital bliss in the paradise that Kashmir is.
