I don't think the romantic music they play in the background really

suits the scenes in which Shivam & Riya are shown these days .

The issues & problems arising between them are not of emotional/romantic/affectionate

nature. In fact, the problems have nothing to do with Shivam-Riya bonding.

The issues are more about money/salary, housework, Scooty, Nimmi's loan,

Preeti's job, Khushiya's icy showers etc etc.

These are not problems relating to affection /love between the pair .

In fact, shivam & riya have no time to think of each other.

They are always preoccupied with the needs & deeds of Daadi, Khushiya,

Nimmi, Sarla etc etc. So, why the romantic music when Riya and shivam

are thinking about orarguing about these issues?

The music is not only unsuitable, it seems to underline the

fact that all the love / romance of the past is gone & all thats left is Shivam 's family

and their many desires/expectations of Riya.

The romantic music makes me want to vomit or cackle at the tv screen like a crazy witch. 🤢
Their relationship was never a love relationship- it was conditional, especially for Shivam from the start. As long as what he was observing in Riya was pleasing to him, he loved her. But the MOMENT she challenged his way of thinking, or challenged the status quo he turned on her. The only word is conditional- a conditional relationship. He has treated her abhorrently time and time again, as you said the number of times he has cruelly expressed his regret at marrying her- and still she finds a way to eventually focus on the things about him that she loves. (Yes its not doing her much good- but look at the difference in how she tries to understand him while keeping her self-respect while he just blusters and scalds with his words and behaviour like a 12 year old hurricane). None of it has been romantic. Everything about them has felt off from the get go and visually they might ""look"" like a good couple, but its all rotten to the core. Romantic music doesnt belong in their scenes; when its there it simply makes a mockery of the BS that Riya keeps enduring.

Shivam with the writer seems to think googly eyes and lovely dovey music will fix the problems. But that isn't the problem to begin with.

The problem is how Shivam and gang treat Riya with NO respect! Asks for sacrifices, but when Riya is asking for something she is being inconsiderate. None of the problems stem from love, something I think lacked from the beginning, but real world financial and humane problems.

Riya is treated like scum in her sasural. Shivam putting a duputto on her, and staring intently isnt going to fix it!

👏 Well said!
In the highlighted sentences, you have zeroed in on the main problem.

12 year old hurricane- he is exactly that! But even 12 year olds also know that

you can't say to your friends that My Mum means a lot to me

but Who's there in your family except you & your Dad?

Its strange how Shivam's Mom means a lot to him but he time

& again doesn't mind hinting that Riya's Mom is dead & thats the real problem!

Strange & cruel!

sacrifices-salary, scooty, humiliation of her Dad by his Mom, Nimmi shouting

and burning her sarees, all the housework, no freedom to rest/recreate/visit

her Dad etc etc

Shivam putting a duputto on her, and staring intently isnt going to fix it! 👏

Exactly! The intent look possibly means- I love my Mom very much

& you can go to hell!

Yes, I am talking about that song. But frankly, any romantic or deeply

emotional song would not suit Riya & Shivam's scenes because what's

happening in these scenes is not about Riya or Shivam's feelings for each other

or their relationship . These scenes are about the trickery of Daadi & Sarla plus

Khushiya/Shivam's defence of the 'system' in their house. The sort of differences that

Riya has with shivam would happen if she wasm't his wife but any other relative

living in their house.

Daadi would still play politics & Khushiya would still co-operate with Daadi as she

looted that relative. So what's romantic here?

There is no understanding between them. It doesn't even look like they are a couple madly in love. Shivam behaves rudely with Riya in front of the family then when they're alone he apologises. Riya gives in too easily. I know its early but there doesn't seem to be any sort of foundation in their marriage. Yes, he loves his mother but he also knows how his mother felt when his dad sided with his mother (Shanti) all the time. He should be able to understand the situation better. He knows how his dadi is then why behave that way with Riya.

Ahh I had misunderstood d topic completely..went thru d post again n d other replies...vry rightly said dere appears no love btw d two from atleast Shivam's syd...he has grown up seeing his mother sacrificing everything for d sake of his grandmother n has never liked d way his mother was treated n was never supported by his father n yet he victimizes other like his father did to his mother...one will expect him to b rather sensible while tackling situations btw his wife n mother bt he is following his father's footsteps n takes his wife for granted ..I agree any song under dese circumstances ll b like forcing dere so called love scenes on us..d love simply doesn't show

Riya gives in too easily ---- Yes, agree.

He knows how his dadi is then why behave that way with Riya. --- Exactly!

not only does he not inform riya about the dynamics of his family,

he pretends not to know anything & accuses Riya of not knowing how to live in a

complete family. What are these mind-games?!
