Checked Sushpectives now, quite similar impressions, I find it romantic and genuine all he does but I want them to lead equally, yes at times one can please the other by accepting their request but in an improprate dose, and none needs to be humiliated they just need to use their brains and stay united, but yes in extremes situations when they have no choice, it s ok. All this being said I'm all for passion and pain! It makes the love story deep and epic

Ranaji knows one thing. It is IMPOSSIBLE for him to do justice to Gayatri while Sulakshna is in the mahal...it is just NOT POSSIBLE...It may not be a life n death situation, but if he has to make G truly happy, he would have to leave with her...
But here, Gayatri is willing to give up a part of herself...it is a huge sacrifice from her side...that she is willing to live with her sauten...through all the comparisons and taunts...just for him...and his people..their people.
Throughout, RNJ was unhappy and he expressed it clearly...he knows G is going to suffer and there is little he can do about it, other than feel terrible along with her...and the only other option he had would be to let Gayatri go...which would make them both very unhappy.
I appreciate that the dialogues were very clear about the choices made.

Her grievance was that he had been unfair to a third party in the process...
Ranaji is clear about it too..if he had to be a husband to Gayatri in every way that she deserved, he would have to take her away from the mahal...it was that, or him having to watch her suffering silently...Even after Gayatri agrees to live with the humiliation, he is not happy with her decision at all.
Actually the fate Gayatri embraces reminds me of Prometheus...living under the same roof as Sulakshna is only going tear her apart day by day...Ranaji knows that only too well.
