Had Bigg Boss felt the same way, it would not have canceled the task, but awarded it to Mandana and her team. But it didn't. So, the conclusion is that there were mistakes from both sides. In that light, Salman's taking sides seemed inappropriate. Such things leave both the contestants and the viewers confused.
