Okay , so this was supposed to be an OS, but it developed into this short story. I am not sure if you will like it? Its a darker story and little inspired from the hate story series, at least the trailer. Darker themes therefore trigger waning. Please be ware and cautious as adult language persists.
Dangerous Liaisons SS/ Complete
They say that admiration never lasts, at one point it becomes so over empowering that you loose your ability to see straight. It becomes obsessive and powerful, where it no longer remains admiration, it becomes obsession. That was just the beginning of the 29-year-old billionaire, business tycoon Swayam Shekhawat's story. Being academically smart he just wasn't always the greatest at understanding the more simple attributes of life. He was just a little too nave at the wrong time.
Sitting next to his best friend and fellow competitor Reyansh Singhania he smirked as they watched the fall of their common enemy, and Sawyam's longest running vengeance. The TV was turned on, with its volume on blast, and all they wanted to hear was the Mayank Kapoor's company share prices had crashed into dust. And probably very soon leaving him with nothing but begging with desperation for his own survival. Swayam smirked has he cracked open a bottle of whisky. Rey surprised with his gesture of a hard drink so early on in the day, but gladly accepted.
"You're one happy man aren't you, you have him exactly where you wanted him."
Swayam still smirked, "I am still not done, this is only the beginning, what I really want is something that will hurt him far more than this."
Rey saw pure and unadulterated venom in his eyes. He knew how badly Swayam's innocent soul had been torched in his lonely years at St Louis, its where it all began.
Swayam was a scrawny guy with big reading glasses and braces to flash his teeth. He was just a boy out of high school going to a bigger and newer place, little did he know that his world would change the second his eyes lifted from his books. The library being his best friend he found his day's solace, but it was the first encounter with the college's diva Sharon Rai-Parkash that changed everything. He would admire her beauty from a distance and keep to himself. He knew she would never look at him let alone date him, but he kept a fire for hope alive in his heart. She wasn't the nicest of girls but he always saw something redemptive in her, something worth knowing deeper, something worth keeping. Her one look would make his heart race faster, her one smile to the world would make his knees go week.
He was just melting butter to her burning heat. But slowly Swayam started growing attached; she became sacred to his imagination, as he lost touch with reality. He lost touch with where he stood in college status and where she was, he could never realise that he was just a non-existent nobody, not just in her books, but in the eyes of the whole college. Apart from appearing at number 1 on his examination results notice, he had no position in the college, rich children with their big egos would never except him. Being at the top meant no one bothered looking up to see who could have possibly scored highest, after the third time people just looked for their own name below him, pushing Swayam into oblivion even at the top. It's not to say he wasn't privileged, he was. His father was a successful and accomplished businessman himself, but Swayam never lost touch with his values, he stayed true to himself.
Eventually second year came around and so did the infamous Rose day, Swayam went with his yellow rose thinking he would finally offer something to his muse after one long year to Sharon. She was seated with her friends busy laughing and bit*hing about someone else, but as soon as he neared into their table they started whispering about him.
"Hey look that weirdo is coming this way? I swear Sharon be careful who knows what he has in his hair? Does he like ever even wash it, like I don't even know?"
Swayam heard the whispering, which wasn't very whispering like, because he could clearly hear it all. But he had mustered the courage for so long that he just couldn't go back, not today. He brought the rose out, yellow in colour to mark his identity safe, and then spoke softly as he approached Sharon.
"Sharon can I please speak to you." He almost stuttered, but at least he spoke.
Sharon was not amused, not at all, "Kya chahiye? Jaldi bolo mere paas tumhare jaiso ke liye time nahi hai?"
Swayam stuttered again, "Sharon mai rose laya tha, tumhare liye?"
She looked at him almost saying really'? She just glared at him with venom for his sweet gesture. Then he heard her friends say, "bechara kahi kaa, kya kya sapne soch lete hai."
He was still standing like an idiot with the rose placed in front of him.
Then Sharon just took it in her hand and angrily spoke, "pakdao aur nikalo yaha se. Just get lost." And he did as he was told, handed and went back towards his table to finish his lunch. As he was walking back, he turned to see Sharon once again, to see if she actually liked the rose, or if it made her smile. But what he saw broke his heart even more, she lifted it up in air and started pulling its petals apart. One by one until she had stripped that rose apart, only to top off with laughter at the end. She laughed so hard that she was rolling over; the entire table was. He had successfully made a fool of himself and become a laughing stock of the college.
If he thought that was the end of it wasn't, the teasing began and so did the bullying. Before he was just invisible but from there on he was the but of all jokes being cracked at the college. Everyone thought of him as a lunatic. Not long after Sharon found a boyfriend, crashing Swayam's world completely, and he found out the worst way possible.
Thinking one of the college's free room was available to study he walked in not knowing that it was Sharon and her boyfriend Mayank Kapoor's make out ground. Both at each other's throats, but Swayam stood in shock and stared. He couldn't move or say anything. He was just in shock. Quickly regaining his senses he straightened up, but by then it was too late. Mayank had seen him leave the room and he was infuriated by Swayam's audacity to even walk in. And at that moment he decided he would teach him a lesson, a good lesson.
One day on his way back from college in the evening Swayam hoped onto his bike and pedalled along. It was getting dark so he wanted to quicken his speed and reach home knowing his father would wait for him to have dinner. Swayam not knowing was stopped by a jeep, and flashing lights that blinded him. Stepping of he realised that it was Mayank and his college gang. They had cricket bats ready to go with Mayank standing at the front.
"Kya saale , ladki pe line marta hai? Jaanta hai kaun hai woh ?? Meri girlfriend hai, tujhe abi tak pata nahi kya? Har baar chera uthaake line marta rehta hai?"
Before Swayam could even get a word out of his mouth Mayank smacked him with his bat hard. And just as he started so did his friends. Swayam screamed and roared in pain but the darkness was not letting him go anywhere, and Mayank's gang continued their assault. Swayam's frail body couldn't handle much, he very soon started to loose consciousness, his spectacles smashed into pieces and his forehead bleeding. They left him on the side of the road to pretty much deal with it himself or just die if that's all that was left. And Swayam would have died if not for his fathers best friend who was driving by and had found him. Aswin Singhania found the poor boy on the road not realising it was his best friend's son because of his bloodied face. Taking him to hospital he called Rishi up to tell him that he would be late to his dinner because of an emergency of a boy being attacked. Rishi on the other hand was concerned that his son, Swayam hadn't arrived yet. But realising soon after, as he received a call from the hospital using the identity found on Swayams body.
Swayam survived the attack, he survived the beating but he refused to tell his father and best friend who did this to him. All he knew in that moment was that he was going to take revenge, and he wasn't going to let his father fight his battles for him. He was going to take them both down and relish in their downfall, and for that he needed to be patient. Swayam's refusal to tell the names of the people that landed him in hospital only increased concern's for Rishi, that's when he decided that his Son would go study in London with Aswin's son Rey. And just like that Swayam Shekhawat moved to London, but on arrival he knew he wanted to look different. Ditching the glasses for contacts, removing his braces, and improving the style of his clothes, his body though he thought could be worked over the time to come. But he was going to be ready when ever that battle came, and he was going to make them pay for it.
Back to present day.
Swayam was still enjoying the news and Rey who had become his leaver refused to let go of him. He was going to help Swayam what ever way possible because he had single handily seen the state Swayam came into London. Even though Swayam was under the impression he had improved, the marks and bruises on face and body told a very different story. Swayam was broken beyond repair, but his sprit wasn't, and Rey knew he was going to keep that alive.
Rey was glad that they had managed to completely and financially destroy Mayank, but the next part was going to be up to Swayam. He knew what Swayam was about to do was well within the grey area, but knowing how much he had to pay, even Rey was blinded by anger. He couldn't understand how a woman and her boyfriend, and now fianc could completely kill the innocence out of a man.
And just then Swayam pulled out his phone and began dialling, "you ready for this na?" Rey said.
"Oh trust me I have never been this ready." Swayam smirked with a sip of his expensive whisky.
He dialled away knowing the voice on the other hand once had enough power to melt his heart, but today he was going to break her to bring her down to her knees. The tables had to change.
The rings went and a voice answered.
"Hello, who is this?" Sharon spoke with clear confidence that she once had.
Swayam was quick to reply, "How about we keep the questions to a minimum, where I talk and you listen."
And just as he predicted he was on her nerves, "Hey you listen who ever this is, this isn't the time to be calling me and I am definitely not in a mood to entertain."
But he didn't let her speak.
"Fine I'll keep this short and simple, I am sorry to hear about your fianc's market trouble, heard he is going through bit of a rough patch?"
And her anger just grew, "that's none of your concern."
But this was the time for snark to come out, "well you see it kind of is? I heard he was waiting on one important investor? His saving grace if you may call it? If you don't comply with me trust me your boy ain't going to see the light of day. He will probably commit suicide knowing how much money he'd have to owe everyone."
Sharon's ears perked up, "Who the hell are you?"
"Like I said the question are to a minimum, and I am here calling on behalf of that investor, that is if your boy still wants the saving that is."
Sharon knew too well that he wasn't talking bullsh*t, Mayank was awaiting on one investor to save his company but that was just such hidden talk, how could anyone possibly know.
"What do you want?" She said in defeat.
"And now we are finally asking the right questions. Good girl."
He almost purred, and it scared her by sending a shiver up her spine. The man's presence on the phone was too much to handle.
"Lets just say this, you're boy needs Reyansh Singhania's financial help, and he is only going to give it under one condition, and one condition only."
Sharon was now scared, really sacred what could this man possibly want?
"What's the condition?"
And he smirked; he had her where he wanted her.
"Mere saath ek raat guzzarni padhegi."
He paused, let her digest what he had said, and then repeated it in English to make it loud and clear.
One night with just you and me."
Sharon's ears went off, her heart raced in fear and palms became sweaty.
"What rubbish and nonsense is this? How the hell can anyone take you seriously, you disgusting filth."
Swayam laughed, his laugh wasn't comforting; it was eerie and shivers worthy.
"I'll prove it you, you'll know soon enough. Mayank is waiting for the meeting time isn't he? How about we set if for 4:30 tomorrow ? He'll receive a SMS and you can ask your man if it's true? If you're not willing to go through with my request then let's say its much easier to cancel a meeting than to have one? You see Sharon dear it's all in your hands?"
Just as Swayam's was speaking Rey sent out a SMS for the meeting, and Sharon received another call on her landline receiver a little too soon.
"Baby guess what? He said yes, YES for the meeting? Can you believe it? We have a chance Sharon, somebody can save us? Sharon sweetheart say something, this is great news." Mayank was calling in genuine relief and surprise
Sharon was busy dropping hot tears on her floor because she knew it was all real; her eyes couldn't stop because she knew she was trapped. He had trapped her, who ever he was.
Mustering up an optimistic tone she stuttered, "that's great news Jaan. I've got to go. I'll talk to you soon?"
"Offcourse baby, love you."
And Sharon put down her receiver only to pick up her mobile, which was waiting patiently for her.
He realised her conversation on the other phone had ended, "Toh kya decide kia Madaam ne? Ek raat is ajnabee ke saath ya puri zindagi barbaadi?"
Her tears only increased, her eyes watering too loud.
And Swayam could hear her tremble, he could hear her teeth clutter against each other and she stood shivering out of fear. But he couldn't feel guilt, just pain.
"I am guessing you can't decide, it's okay I can send the SMS to cancel." And she couldn't let him finish. "Don't!"
And he comfortably sat back with his glass; enjoying the torcher his mere voice was causing her.
All she could say with her quivering voice was, "when and where?"
His eyes won and motioned to Rey that he had her where he wanted.
"Music to my ears Sharon, at the Taj Hotel, room number 901, be there at 10 tonight."
She was about to cut the call just before he spoke, "and Sharon, dress to impress, I have high standards and I don't like to be disappointed."
With that he cut the call and clutched his phone in anger and victory, tonight he was going to make it loud and clear what she missed out on, what she could have had, and he knew he was going to make her scream his name into oblivion.
Rey poured him another drink, and they both enjoyed a victory silence.
