Now even I am feeling it is a plan, it really makes a lot of sense for Sid to do this to the Patel and his own family, so what if all of them thought he was dead in those six months Sid was planning how to bring down the big and powerful Shabnam who entered the show as a scared little puppet hiding under a table...So indeed he needed to lie to gather the evidence as even though all he needed was himself to prove that DD did not kill him
