Himani impersonated!
The singer was aghast to find a stranger posing as herself reports Sapana Patil Poojary
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005' product and 'Antakshari' (Zee) co-host Himani Kapoor apparently has an impersonator. Himani realised this after a fan e-mailed her through her official website referring to the conversation they supposedly had on a social networking website. That e-mail alarmed her about someone impersonating her and since then Himani has been lying uneasy.
Recounting how she stumbled upon the truth, Himani says, "I had been to the US recently. I was checking the e-mails on my official website. A fan whose name is Pita wrote to me asking if I remembered him. Apparently, he had chatted with me through that website. The person he had chatted with had told Pita that I had spoken to A R Rahman about his talent. I was shocked to read that mail."
She continues, "Even other networking sites have my fake profiles but those have never got me into trouble. I am worried about this because the impersonator is making deals on my behalf. I am anxious about what may happen next."
Himani says she is clueless about how to get this issue solved. She adds, "Lately, internet has been the cause of several crimes. Youngsters need to be responsible with technology. It is very important that they exercise self-control. That is the best way to control offences."
