Nandini stood in her room,looking out of the window.Her life had changed drastically since her mother's death.

"I got to tell you secret,that will see you through all the trails that life can offer,have courage and be kind." These were her mother's last words,It helped her be strong and face the cruel world.

"Darling.."

She looked back and saw her father.She smiled at him.

"Can we talk?"He asked her nervously.

"Sure dad,you don't have to ask.."She said and sat on the bed .

Nandini's father and went and sat next to her and held her hand.

"Sweetheart,I know its been only three months since your mother passed away,But darling you are still young and need a mother's love and care..."He started hesitantly.

Nandini knew what was coming her way,She just nodded and asked her father to continue.

"You know Mrs.Woods,I think she is the best person to fill you'r mothers place."This wasn't what Nandini was expecting.

Mrs Woods,The evil beauty.She was the most evil lady in the town.She was Nandini's fathers friend.Everyone knew her true side,But Nandini's father.

Nandini stood up and looked away.

"Dad,No one ...no one can take mom's place and especially not Mrs.Woods,She can become your wife but not my mother...She will always be my step-mother.."Nandini said as tears swelled up in her eyes.

"but darling..."

"No dad,I have made my point clear,If you want to move on with her you surely can.Marry her,but don't expect me to give her mom's position.."Nandini said and walked out of the room.

"She will be your step mother,You' have two elder Sisters to keep company.So I'll know..far as may I be..you'll be safe." Her father said kissing her goodbye as left for some official work,the same day of his marriage with Mrs.Woods now Mrs.Harlock.

Nandini had tears while she saw her dad go away while Mrs.Woods and her two daughters let out an evil smile.
