Ok I see your theory.
Till the time swarna gets impregnated they need Rana to be away from Gayathri as they were ready to consummate.
So by this fake they are ensuring Gayathri Is ousted. And Rana will be mad after this fake is also sent out or shown killed or whatever they planned. Clever ploy. Making sure no waaris from Rana.
