From Bollywood's babes to Page 3iites to former beauty queens, Mumbai's social set made it through the peak-hour evening traffic to Andheri to support couture jeweller Roopa Vohra as she did her bit for the cause of breast cancer awareness. At this 'evening with precious people', as the invite read, there was glitz, glamour and oodles of sparkle as prominent people from all walks of life descended on the ramp to model Roopa's jewellery, as part of her initiative for breast cancer awareness. So one saw Devieka Bhojwani, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi
and her sister Sujata, Prahlad and Mitali Kakar, Shekhar and Alka Suman, Neha Dhupia, Diana Hayden, a very pregnant Suchitra Pillai, Poonam Dhillon and Kim Sharma, amongst others, walk down the aisle, amidst much applause from Kiran Sippy, Kahini Arte-Merchant, Bikram and Schauna Saluja and Brinda Chudasama-Miller and many more. Hanif Hilal and Pooja Bedi came in straight from eight hours of practice, but as we said, where there's a will, there's a way! Roopa's husband Vivek took great pains to look after their guests, 90 per cent of whom were dressed in pink, in keeping with the theme.
