Chapter 73

Knocking on the door of her sister and brother-in-law, she hoped her sister would open the door. As Ishita opened the door rubbing her eyes, she saw a tired Mihika standing in front of her. Remembering last night, Ishita looked away disgusted at her sister and then saw Raman. He was fast asleep hugging Ruhi, not wanting to bother the two who had slept after a long night of crying and coughing, she told Mihika to wait a few minutes and quickly freshened up and turned off Raman's alarm so he could sleep. And then she walked out of the room as Mihika waited for her.

Ishita walked to the kitchen silently and began to make tea for Raman. Mihika knew she was in a lot of trouble as she had woken up in the room completely hungover and with faint memories of the night before. Knowing how upset everyone would be with her, she knew she had a lot of convincing to do. Standing next to Ishita looking at her and asking her if she needed help, she got her sister to finally speak up...

"What's your problem Mihika?"

"Akka I-"

"Don't Akka me! Do you even remember what you did yesterday?"

"No..."

"Walking on the roads drunk, behaving so rudely with Raman, and then pushing him! Is this reasonable?! That man was worried sick about you and you're doing all this?! All over what? Was it a bad date? Was it a fight? What was it that you went to the extent you did?!"

"Akka, it wasn't anything small! I went overboard and I don't remember pushing Jiju, but if I did then that was wrong, but Akka that matter was such that I couldn't help but drink. It was too much and I just drank to let it all go."

"What was that matter that you went to hurting Raman and making a spectacle of yourself in the middle of the night?"

He walked in lazily slumping onto the couch with Ruhi in his arms as they woke up after a long sleep. Laying his daughter down on the sofa, he picked up the newspaper. Though he held the newspaper in front of him, his eyes were on his wife. He was busy in the kitchen, but what surprised him was that Mihika and she were acting normal like nothing ever happened. Though he didn't want the sisters to argue, he honestly didn't expect this.

He didn't think too much of it and continued gaze at his madrasan who thought tired from last night looked amazing. From head to toe this woman looked amazing without any effort and as much as he tried, he could never keep his eyes off her. She caught him looking at her and after blushing, she shook her head and scolded him with her eyes asking him to stop. He winked at her and mouthed "gorgeous" as she slid a strand of hair behind her ear. She looked away shyly trying to avoid his stares at her that made her melt while he enjoyed the effect he had on her.

They both came out of their little teasing session as Mihika felt her head throb and sat down on the dining table holding her head in pain. He only saw her from the corner of his eye and simply turned to Ishita.

"Ishita get her some lime water. And if Ma asks, just say she's not feeling well."

"Jiju-"

"And you should get ready. We have to leave for Ruhi's appointment soon." He got up taking Ruhi with him as he walked back to their room and Ishita gave Mihika a reassuring look before she followed him...

She walked in seeing him taking his anger out on his clothes and smiled at him as she walked up to him. Simply taking out a black sweater and some jeans, she handed them to him and asked him to get ready soon taking his mind of Mihika's matter.

"You look nice in casuals." She pecked his lip as he ruffled his hair shyly. He came closer after her peck and snaked his arms around her waist slyly sliding them under her kurta onto her bare waist. Knowing where this was going, she slowly signaled him towards Ruhi.

"Ru is here."

"She's a baby, she doesn't know anything."

"Your daughter is very smart like you. Don't underestimate her!"

"Fine, but tonight..."'

"I'm all yours." She pinched his cheeks as he pulled her closer and that's when they heard Ruhi' whimpers.

"Offo, pumpkin I'm always yours before Papa. Don't be so jealous baby! We'll send Papa away now and then only you and Mumma." She took Ruhi's hand and placed it on Raman's back leading him to the bathroom. He went inside screaming not fair getting a fit of laughs from both his daughter and wife...

"Black is always sexy..." He said as he walked out of the bathroom finding her in a black hoodie and jeans. She turned around and then turned once again giving him a view of her.

"Thank you! But it's not sexy if you have a baby that's growing so much every day! Now I need to wear hoodies to hide my stomach. "

"You're beautiful. And don't say anything to my baby!" He caressed her stomach and moved his hands to her waist only to have her move back...

"Okay fine, but baby's daddy, what have you done to yourself?" She pointed to him.

"What?" He looked confused as he saw himself in the mirror.

She shook her head at him as she picked up a brush from the vanity and began to fix his hair. She parted it to one side and didn't like it and then began to do it another way. All the while he kept on looking at her and at the expressions she made trying to get his hair perfect.

Finally after a few minutes when she was happy with what she did and after playing with his soft his for a bit, she moved back admiring his look. He looked at himself and thought there was hardly any change and just to tease her a bit, he came closer to her...

"You can fix it more if you like."

"I will...but tonight. Now go put Ruhi's shoes on and I'll get my bag." She walked away while he was about to ruffle his hair when she turned around.

"Don't you dare mess up my hard work!"

"Yes Ma'am!" He yelled out as he stopped himself and went over to Ruhi to put on her pink shoes.

After having Ruhi wear a jacket and wrapping her up in a fuzzy pink blanket, he headed out only to find Mihika and Ishita quietly talking to each other in what seemed to be a serious conversation. Ignoring them knowing Ishita will handle things, he took his keys and headed out which Ishita saw and followed him as she finished talking to Mihika...

When she walked outside, he was talking to Ruhi explaining her that she was a strong baby and she wouldn't cry today as he put her into the car.

"Will she understand?" She asked as she got in the car.

"Probably not." He said starting up the car and driving off.

"Then?"

"I just I'm telling myself all these things."

"Is it really bad?"

"Not anymore...we've kind of gotten used to it you could say." He looked at Ruhi through the rear view mirror and smiled as she played with her teddy while Ishita looked back nervously wondering how it was like to have her vaccinations done...

Arriving at the clinic, she hesitantly got out of the car while he wanted to get all this over with, so he quickly got Ruhi out and asked Ishita to hurry up. As he talked to the receptionist and they took a seat in the waiting room, she looked around nervously while he played with Ruhi. He noticed her tapping her feet and then drinking a lot of water.

"You okay?"

"Raman! Did you see that baby! It was crying so much!" She told him as she referred to a child that left wailing as he came out of the room.

"Ishita, all kids cry when they get vaccinations, but it's normal."

"Ruhi's going to be in a lot of pain!" She whispered horrified as she ran her hand over Ruhi's head.

"Relax, she'll be okay."

"How are you so relaxed?!"

"I've been through this so many times. It doesn't feel good to see her getting injections, but I remember every time that it's better than having her sick. Isn't it?" He held her hand with his as she looked up at him.

"Will she do it quickly?" She said in a barely audible voice.

"Of course. They don't want to hurt her either, so they will try to get it over with as soon as they can."

"I don't want to see her cry." She leaned on his shoulder and he put his arm around her while she looked at Ruhi.

"Then I'll go. You can wait here for us."

"No I'll go, but I'm going to look away. And you have to promise me with our baby, you will also get all this done because I can't."

"Okay promise. Now let's go, they've called us." He said as they got up and she held his hand worried she might not be able to see what he had seen many times...

As they entered the doctor's cabin, she greeted them with a smile as Raman introduced Ishita to her. A young woman likely in her 30s who had been with Ruhi from when she was born shook her hand happily. She waved an animated hi to Ruhi who was excited to see the woman as they sat down.

"Mrs. Bhalla, finally I get to meet Ruhi's mother. You're a lucky woman! He's an amazing dad." She exclaimed.

"He really is. You don't need to worry with him around." Ishita looked at him lovingly.

"You should just sit back and let him do all the work."

"That's exactly what I do! Actually what he makes me do." The two women shared a laugh while he smiled at their talks.

"So sweet!"

"That he is, but this will only increase your work. Soon we'll bring in two energetic kids and then you'll be the one dealing with them while we get a break." She held his hand while he was happily surprised she was comfortable sharing the news of her pregnancy and only held her hand affirmatively.

"Oh, so little Ruhi's going to have a little sibling." She happily exclaimed to Ruhi who clapped her hands in agreement getting smiles from the 3 adults.

"Anyways, how's Ruhi? She's doing okay?"

"She has a bit of a cough." Raman finally spoke up.

"Let me see her." She took Ruhi into her arms and quickly examined her. A few minutes later, she handed her back to Raman.

"Everything looks okay, however if it worsens bring her to me right away. For now, I can give a prescription. And now come on over, everything's ready to go." She got up with them following her into a small room where they all at down on chairs beginning to talk about what they came here for.

"She's going to have 4 shots, 1 in each arm and 1 in each leg, alright? And you already know what they are all for?"

"Yep."

"Okay so I'll take and quickly get her height and weight, then we'll give her the vaccinations." Ishita took off Ruhi's blanket and jacket as they handed Ruhi over. The moment the doctor left, she turned over to him.

"Raman! 4?!"

"Ishita, she'll be okay."

"And her legs too?! Who does that to babies?!"

"It happens. The doctors know what they are doing. We should let them do what they are doing."

"Raman! How can you be so casual?! It's so...urgh! Just forget it!" She looked away from him irritated at his casual attitude towards everything. He tried to talk to her, but she simply wouldn't listen to what he was saying. And he only stopped trying to get her to turn around when the doctor returned with Ruhi and a nurse. They both looked normally as he took Ruhi into his arms while Ishita clutched onto him scared of what would happen.

"You can still go out if you can't see this." He suggested once more knowing she wouldn't be able to take this.

"But I should be here for her." She insisted on staying only so she could be there for Ruhi in this which she hadn't been able to ever before.

As he helped roll up Ruhi's sleeves, she forwarded herself and folded up her jeans to which he only reassured her with his eyes. As they watched the nurse sit on one side while the doctor sat on the other side of Raman, she stood up and went in front of Ruhi smiling at her. Happily sitting in her dad's lap and smiling at her mom, it took mere seconds for her to begin wailing as they quickly gave her vaccinations. Raman rocked her in his lap as he held back his tears while Ishita simply looked away not being able to see her daughter cry as it brought tears to her eyes. In another few seconds, they were done with all four and Raman got up trying to make her stop crying.

"Shhh, Ru. No, my strong bacha doesn't cry. Look it's over. No more crying baby." He wiped off her tears and kissed her forehead while Ruhi wouldn't stop crying. He continued to pacify her when he saw Ishita with tears running down her face as she looked at Ruhi. Walking over to him, he pointed at her...

"Haw Ruhi look at Mumma, she's crying. What should we do?" He caught their daughter's attention as she looked at her crying mother. Her wails turned into quieter whimpers and soon she was looking sadly at Ishita who wiped off her tears seeing her effect on the small baby.

"Raman...can I take her outside?" He nodded wiping off her lone tears and leaned closer to her.

"I know it hurts, but it's to keep your pumpkin very happy and healthy. You just have to be a little bit stronger and I know you will with time."

"Like you did. You can't hide your feelings from me, so stop trying to be so emotionless when you want to cry." She caressed his cheek before he handed Ruhi to her and she left while he went to pick up Ruhi's prescription.

"Raman, you're so strong...I mean you were hurt to see her cry, but the way you handled it...I can't even try to think about her like this without crying." She said as they began to drive back home.

"That's because of her. I was never strong...she's the one whose made me this way. Honestly the person who you met and married and fell in love with is a Raman who is nothing like before. I'm a completely different person after Ruhi came into my life."

"Who were you before?" She held his free hand.

"A very angry person. When dad passed away, I started to hate everything. I was so angry at the world, at my dad, at the person who hit my dad's car, at doctors who couldn't save him, at my life, at God, and at myself the most. But I kept in me because I couldn't let it out to anyone, not even mom. Then that pent up anger began to come out when I got older. Fights in college, drinking, road rage, everything that you could do wrong I did. Then after marriage, my anger was pushed down by hers. She was much louder and dominant than me, so I had pent up that anger in me again. Our last fight I told you about, I let out every inch of frustration in me." He paused as she brought his hand up holding it between her two and gently kissed his hand...

"And Ruhi managed to calm you down so much?"

"Yep. I had always thought becoming a father would change me, but never this much. The moment I saw her, as dreamy as it sounds, I felt so different. More responsible, not just for her but for myself. I couldn't drink and drive carelessly, because I had to come back to Ruhi. And my anger at the world, at my fate all just vanished when I saw her. Life had been so unfair to her, my pain was nothing compared to hers. Yet I never saw her anger, I mean I know she's a child and doesn't understand anger. But if she could be so happy and smile while there was a chance she...she wouldn't be there the next day, then why was I so angry when all my troubles were almost nothing compared to hers." He turned over to her and found her looking at him in awe, as if mesmerized and immersed in what he was saying. She simply kept and looking at him at a loss of words. All she could do was barely mouth...

"That's...so amazing."

"And you were also part of it. Every time I would let go of anger, I will build more in me. If Ruhi's taken away my anger, you've kept it that. You're so positive about things, so I am not so angry and negative all the time. Now I have no anger that will build up because of you two. I'm happy because of you and her." He gave her a smile getting a teary one in return to which he leaned over kissing away her unshed tears...

They were near their home another 15 minutes later when Ishita couldn't help, but sigh in frustration before she complained to him like a small child...

"Raman she is so cranky!"

"It happens. She's tired and usually all cranky after these shots."

"What do we do?"

"Listen let's take her to the park, she'll get distracted there. Is that okay with you?" He suggested knowing Ruhi often got distracted with the outdoor.

"Only on one condition."

"You know there's an ice cream stall nearby, so I want 2 ice creams!"

"2?!"

"One for me, and one for baby. You can also have one if you want!" She proudly said while he chuckled at her cravings and childish behaviour and looked back at Ruhi who was already in a better mood thanks to her mother's antics...

Awesome update full with IshraRu. this tim Ishu is the person who worry for Ruhi pain for the injection and Raman was calm and console her. I like little moment raman tell Ru your mama was crying then Ru is stop crying and pay attention to her Mumma .,She really know their emotion so well how cute she is. And the naughty dress up now Raman very much want to be close to Ishu all the time.😳😳 i like the scene she fixing his hair and i was guess right it turn back to be was Raman was comb his hair before but that is her confuse hormones😆😆 Mihika tell Ishu her story yet i not catch it. But Raman concern for Mihika and just ignore her to let Ishu deal with her👏 And the end Ishuand baby want to have ice-cream and she tell Raman he can have some too. the talk Raman let her know about his past Emotional of anger and how he did control himself after he got Ruhi everything about Ruhi can change his behavior and mood and after Ishu come in his life she totally handle him and bring him back to beautiful and happy life again👏👏 Awesome update and thanks for the Pm. enjoy IshraRu moment even they are in the hospital for injection but that beautiful moment that three of them share together.👏👏👏 and for this update🤗🤗🤗
