Chapter 72

They both rushed out of the car seeing Mihika. She was stumbling as she walked on the lonely quite road not aware that they were right there. Raman ran to her as she was unable to balance on her own two feet and fell down. Ishita followed behind him as they reached Mihika.

Looking as if she came from some party, she was completely drunk and looking like a mess. Her heel had broken which caused her to fall and she looked as if she had been crying for a while, but it was difficult to differentiate whether it was just because of the alcohol or if it was real tears.

Not caring and more worried seeing her state, they both tried to help her up. When Raman kneeled down in front of her and asked her to get up holding her arm, she noticed her sister and brother-in-law next to her. She looked at Ishita's concerned face like a small child as she sobbed while she turned to Raman's worried face only to replace her tears with anger. He didn't know how to react to what he saw in her eyes, a rage, almost hate for him was there and he snapped out of his thoughts when she pushed his hand away from her screaming at him...

"You! I hate you!"

"Mihika!" Ishita was shocked at her sudden rudeness towards Raman.

"You took him from me!" She pointed at him as she tried to get up wiping off her tears.

"Stop it!" Her sister warned her as she helped her up.

"Why? Did I hurt your darling husband?!" She shot an angry look to Raman while Ishita was disgusted by her now.

"That's enough Mihika!"

"Ishita relax." Raman spoke up trying to control the situation which he himself couldn't understand. All he knew was they all had to go home instead of creating a scene in the middle of the road. Grabbing Mihika's arm, he asked her to get the car. When she tried to pull herself away, he pulled her by the arm and got her to their car. He let her arm go and opened the door.

"Get in the car." He sternly told her knowing being nice wouldn't get them anywhere.

"NO! He...he's going! Because of you!" She yelled at him and slammed the car door.

"You're drunk! He's only helping you, get in the car!" Ishita told her in a quiet yet firm voice and she looked at Raman who was confused, hurt, and very upset with Mihika's behavior.

"I don't want his help! This mess is ALL...all because of you! He...he loves me...but you..." She stepped forward to Raman and pushed him away suddenly making him lose his balance. As he composed himself, he heard her sobbing while Ishita was stuck in between the two of them. He signaled her to get Mihika in the car and as Ishita held her shoulders, Mihika continued to yell at him...

"I hate you Raman Bhalla!" And she passed out in Ishita's arm. Running over to her, Raman helped get Mihika into the car. When Ishita was about to sit in the back with her sister worried on seeing her drunken state, he stopped her.

"Sit in the front. She's way too drunk."

Quietly and embarrassed by this whole situation, she listened to him without a word and got in the passenger seat. The entire ride home was silent with the occasional mumbles from Mihika. Ishita looked back at her sister who she couldn't help feel pity for. Something had gone so wrong, and she had a feeling what it was, but then looking at Raman she felt anger towards her very sister. He was so happy minutes back and now he was upset and angry. When she was so taken back by Mihika, then he was no exception. However the tone in which she spoke to him was so rude and filled with hate, that he was sure to be angered. The fact that she had even pushed him made Ishita upset at this situation.

She had seen Raman and Mihika go from that argument to them teaming up against her, she knew the respect Mihika had for him and she knew very well how he treated Mihika as if she was his own sister. His attempts to hide the fact that he was hurt right was making her instincts seem right that there were going to be a lot of changes with them after tonight.

He was more than shocked as he drove home. Just this morning he had driven Mihika happily to work and now he was driving her back home in her drunken state after she said she hated him. He couldn't understand what he did and what this whole mess she was talking about was. But more than that he couldn't understand that "he" she had mentioned. Something was wrong, terribly wrong with her and that's what caused tonight. But whatever it was, he knew a lot had changed now between them. He wasn't angry at her as much as he was hurt. He had seen her mad at him when it came to Ishita, but never did he see that hate for him ever from anyone...and that's what stuck with him. Those eyes, that hate, and that rage was what was not letting him forget what transpired moments back.

As they reached their driveway and he parked the car, he didn't wait a moment before getting out. He wanted to walk away from this whole situation especially Mihika. But then as he took a few steps away, he turned back to see Ishita struggling with Mihika.

He came over and saw she was trying to help Mihika out of the car, but she had passed out and relied completely on Ishita. He could see Ishita struggling and she wasn't feeling comfortable with the smell of alcohol that was coming from Mihika. He immediately stopped Ishita and scolding her for not calling him and doing dangerous things. She didn't take his scolding to heart, but was starting to realize how upset he was right now.

She quietly looked at him while as he looked at Mihika. He didn't want to do this and even felt embarrassed to some extent seeing his sister-in-law like this. Asking Ishita just for a bit of help, he threw Mihika's arm over his shoulder and supported her into the house.

As quietly as they could, they took Mihika to her room hoping his mother wouldn't see them. Carefully placing her onto the bed, he immediately turned away while Ishita went and removed Mihika's shoes and covered her up with a blanket. He knew Mihika had scraped her knee when she fell, so he went out and brought a first aid kit for her.

"Here, bandage her knee and put her to sleep." He told Ishita who simply took the kit from him and asked him to change and she'll be right with him. He didn't say anything and quietly left the room so his wife could tend to Mihika...

She walked into their room after half an hour. It had taken a while to change her into her pajamas and then she wouldn't go to sleep continuously crying and mumbling in her half-conscious state. Tired and upset over everything, she walked into their room only to find him still awake patting Ruhi's head. She knew Ruhi was supposed to stay with Mummyji and then suddenly she was sleeping with them. As happy as she was to have Ruhi with them, she wondered if he was mad again.

"Raman-"

"Shhh..." He quietly said and pointed her to her night clothes all laid out for her. Taking her clothes, she went to the bathroom to change. She came back to Ruhi sleeping while he was still waiting for her. Sitting down on the bed, she took her vitamins as he continued to pat Ruhi's head. She still had the same question in her mind wondering if he was mad and as if reading her mind, he quietly said...

"She was bothering Ma. Looks like she's coming down with something."

"Is she okay?" Ishita suddenly became worried and held Ruhi's hand softly trying not to disturb her.

"She's coughing a bit, but it's not a bad cough." Immediately she felt Ruhi's forehead and was relived.

"Her temperature's okay." And that's when Ruhi quietly coughed in her sleep as her parents both patted her hoping she wouldn't be woken from her sleep.

"Maybe a cold." He said as Ruhi calmed down and they both sighed in relief.

"Should we go to a doctor?" She became really worried as she never saw Ruhi sick except once before they were married.

"She's having her vaccinations tomorrow anyways, so she'll get checked there. I'm pretty sure it's the weather change. Tomorrow keep her in warmer clothes and a blanket." He calmed her down knowing she was quite panicked. But he himself wasn't liking Ruhi being sick and then whatever happened with Mihika was also on his mind. Thinking about everything he got lost in own thoughts and she noticed the same...

"Are you okay?" She held his shoulder and brought him out of his thoughts. He nodded his head as they both lay down on the bed. They both kept looking at Ruhi holding her hands. He seemed upset as if there was something that was nagging him continuously and as he looked at Ruhi, she thought that was the reason.

"She's alright, you said it yourself."

"I know." He said and kissed their daughter and then lay down trying to sleep. But she knew he was disturbed about something. If not Ruhi, then she knew what the other reason was. Sighing she knew she couldn't do much about this. Leaning over she gently ran her fingers through his hair gently massaging his head as she saw the lines on his forehead. He opened his eyes and tried to smile at her while she kissed his forehead...

"Raman, sorry."

"Why?"

"Whatever you had to see today. It was all going great, we having a great time and then...And her behavior with you. I can't even say sorry." He held her hands and smiled at her genuinely.

"Don't make it sound like I'm some outsider. I'm not upset over our plans being ruined, but Mihika...she's not okay. She was fine this morning and she behaved normally with me." He got as he tried to express his concern. He was clearly disturbed to see what had happened that there was such a change in her.

"I know, I'm going to try and talk to her tomorrow."

"Who was that "he" she was talking about?"

"I don't know."

"It must be serious, otherwise she's not the type to act like this."

"I'll talk to her...don't worry about this."

"How can I not? Did you see her today?"

"You need to sleep Raman. I promise I'll figure this out."

"Please, I'm seriously worried. We were lucky we found her...she was so drunk and walking around Delhi in that state. I don't even want to think about it."

"She's safe."

"But she should be more responsible. More than anything, I'd expect her to be careful. I know something wrong and she's disturbed, but all this...please more than anything, tell her I never want to see this again."

"I will... promise. But now you should rest."

She had him lay down on the bed and started to gently run her finger through his head again. Slowly massaging his head, she continued to do so until he was slowly falling asleep. Once assured he was sleeping, she covered him with a blanket. Checking on Ruhi again, she tucked her in properly as well and covered her with an extra blanket. Protecting her with pillows, she walked out to the balcony. Looking out at the city's lights, she looked back at Raman. She knew how today incident had changed a lot of things, but one thing she hoped was that it wouldn't affect her small happy family.

Walking back in she sat on the bed's edge right by Raman and holding his hand, she quietly whispered...

"Sorry Raman...today I'm lying to you..."

Prabh are you open the parallel track for MIMI.😆 Suddenly Mihika is drunk and angry to Raman . what will happen to good relationship they just form between Raman and Mihika. it doesn' t seem to be serious matter anything like that from old update suddenly why raman send Mihir away. But it nothing with his work cause they did not work together and this is long gone since they was face of last time.MIMI relationship Raman did not know yet so what is the problem the emotion that calm Raman and turn his behavior to be like before now had come back with doubt and angry to Mihika word and behavior.And now Ishu more support to Raman side but she keep to hide this matter from him.Hope they find out when Mihika wake up last time she leave Raman car she seem to be find will wait till next update. curious what went wrong.😉 even in this state raman still sweet he prepare night dress for Ishu and take Ruhi to takecare when she is not feeling well. I thought he brought Ruhi just to keep her in the middle to sleep like last time when Ishra fighting.Thank you for the pm my dear and glad we get the little bit of everything from this update.
