Laughter is the best medicine.But untimely laughter can rake up old wounds and instead end up in sorrow rather than joy. At such a time this happy medium instead of healing tends to transmit a bad reaction..
Viplav ,the man with multiple shades arrives.. this time as the mobile hobby craft man. he carries boxed gifts that engages the attention of the widows immediately ,those interested and others disinterested alike. He whets their creative appetites by revealing art and craft aids, canister paints , collage materials and some samples of chunnaris that would serve as their inspiration. Alongside he gives them pep talk for encouragement. He is positive creations they will come out with creations that will outshine the samples. Viplav reiterates, that the NGO..will assist in exporting their hand crafted goods abroad! which in turn will bring in honest money to them and they can live life with self- respect and self- sufficiency, and better still they wouldn't have to do laborious chores of washing the steps of the mandirs. In fact he reminds them they wouldn't have to do under paid jobs like making diva wicks and tapers. Viplav picks on the monetary issue which is a common concern with all of them, an issue they are likely to agree with unanimously. Much to his delight the crafts attract the widows, and they collect their materials from the table and saunter off to show their skills..
But Viplav has some answering to do before the Spanish inquisition! Dhani wishes to know just where exactly did he get the money to fund the goods?? Much amused he tells her he sold a gold medal an award he had received. He treats her questions even her distrust with affection and even shows her the receipt to prove the sale of the medal. As he was sure she would suspect him of foul play! These short moments of interaction spells out a progressing level of mutual respect, trust and an understanding between these two. Three little sweeties! come to the door collecting financial offerings in the name of the goddess Durga. Without thinking Viplav jests and quotes a large amount of money. Dhani gives him the look! to put a stop to his pompous talk ,and soon after he changes the offering to a smaller amount. But Viplav jest is taken seriously by the child and she challenges him for giving too little.. But the little sweetie .. accepts whatever little Viplav gives..As viplav gives all that he has.Viplav joked and got away this time. But will he next time?? Viplav's mindless ,careless jokes are much talked about. He doesn't think much of them. They just happen!
To honour her prabhu is Durga's worship..Dashrant visits Durga and explains his visit is about Tripurari. Being his mother, she becomes under pressure as she suspects some negativity. She being his mother is right, her son's behaviour causes her prabhu concern as he loses control of his temper ,out- lines Dashrant. In the next instance he knows how to put his conniving mind into play.He praises Tripurari's hidden strengths, which he compares to Dhani! or more so draws a similarity between the two. Durga is pleased as a mother that some goodness is spotted in her son! Dashrant seems to be progressing towards what he really wants , move Dhani out of Viplav's way by pairing her off with the underdog Tripurari! but first he has to put feelers out towards Durga, to ascertain whether she will support him in his wily plans...he motes how she felt about Dhani ? in the main Dhani seems to be caring towards her . Gently he sells Dhani as a would be daughter in law, to her. Durga agrees. Dashrant confirms, her thoughts and his dream to make Dhani as her daughter in law will surely materialize.
Dhani is busily sewing Viplav creeps or rather flies in like the bumble bee hovering around the flower for nectar! Bored he sits by Dhani and some silly smiles follow from him to Dhani. He insists he wants to give her a helping hand! and snatches the chunari from her like a child. she protests , he's creating more work for her ,rather than being a help.. have to give credit to Viplav's zealous spirit! as he insists he wants to learn to sew as well!..Viplav is becoming more of a pupil by each passing day.He expects Dhani to discipline him, guide him ,instruct him like a teacher!. however have to comment, Viplav is one needy and overly demanding pupil! he needs fixed term exclusion! Poor Dhani has been trying this for a while.. but he keeps gate-crashing back into her classroom! Well this time he is spared the cane but given a pin prick of the needle! and then he lets go of the chunari! Unconcerned Dhani moves away from him, and continues with her sewing activity.
Thus begins a light hearted scene.Viplav learns many things about Dhani's character. He goes into a full on joking session based on the fact whether or not Dhani knows English or not? Viplav assumes she doesn't, and thus launches on a almost wacky, name calling session! of course with Viplav, in my opinion is, that he crosses the limits of joking. A bonding session ends up rather bitterly.. Annoyed he calls her thankless! and she replies ,whatever! Then he mocks her.. Did she understand what he called her? She retorts , he's mistaken that he's the only one who understands English! She understands a bit as well and he says that along with thankless! she's also stupid! she retorts yes she is! and what's that got to do with him? He then adds , then she's also a thief too! She retorts , yes that she is since childhood! He doubles with laughter and confirms, she's a thief since childhood? She replies in affirmative and confirms she never lies! then he chuckles , he knows she never fibs! So along with being a thief you must be a killer too! Dhani shouts forcefully , yes that too she is! He goes into a fit of laughter, falls back on the bed behind him , rolls off the bed, on the floor dying of laughter, and he cackles.. Silly, thief and killer means.. he translates them in Hindi.. His mad laughter brings Dulari out and she stands listening to him laughing after calling her a thief and killer!.. You are a killer Dhani! Look here Dhani is a killer! He points at her hysterically.. Dhani face clouds ,she hears a man's voice from the past, Dhani is a killer ,come every one take a look at her she's a killer!.. Dhani begins to hyperventilate . A tear escapes from her eye.. As she takes in Viplav's mocking, accusing words! She can't take it! gets up abruptly and rans up the stairs. Perturbed Viplav says, Dhani I was only joking ! Dulari falls on Viplav like a ton of bricks she tells him off very badly for cracking such cruel jokes with her daughter. Viplav tries to defend himself he didn't mean to cause her harm, but Dulari doesn't take on board any justifications he gives. In fact Viplav looks even more puzzled as to what crime has he committed by cracking jokes with Dhani.? it's not the first time. Inderani tells him not to worry. Leave the mother and daughter on their own and things will be fine.. and she bids Dulari to go to Dhani who needs her. Recently,Dulari has felt she is losing her daughter.Dhani is gravitating towards the young lawyer.She disapproves of Dhani's undue attention to Viplav..She is a child who still needs her mother.This incident and the scene that follows is where the bond between the traumatized Dhani and her supportive mother Dulari, is strengthened once again.dhani is extremely distressed and bawls her eyes out, assures her mother she didn't kill any one.. dulari comforts and consoles her daughter and reminds her child that Dhani is an exceptionally brave and strong girl. She keeps reminding her that her mother is still around her to protect her child.Dulari offers her a drink of water that calms dhani down. Dulari once again feels, her role in dhani's life as her back bone..as her mother is once again re-established..we are left with a feeling that there's more to Dhani than meets the eye..
Next morning, a concerned Viplav is rewarded as his waiting eyes see Dhani coming down ,all calm and collected. No one asks her any questions. Everything is taken in a stride. He feels knotted up and weighty emotionally. Bravely he takes himself to where she is busy painting a pot. He apologizes and shows his confusion to why she suddenly became upset? he was only trying to make her laugh. Interesting to note, that although Viplav was shrewd enough to figure out Tulsi..he fails to catch on, that Dhani became very upset when he joked about her being a killer! Is this perhaps due to the fact that life is often blind?? Dulari walks up and explains to Viplav in an apologetic tone, my daughter is like this ,since childhood.. if anyone joked with her ,she got offended. . this really is both a veiled warning and a request to Viplav.. don't joke with Dhani.. Viplav explains he was only trying to make her laugh didn't mean to upset her.. and he, in a way apologizes to both mother and daughter..but as soon as Dulari leaves he starts his wise cracks again! look if you don't know English , no problem I'll teach you!! then to please her and everyone else he offers to make special tea for all of them seeing they are working so hard! the widows serve the outside world. Viplav Tirpathi in his tea making ,serves the widows!.. the tea turns out to be disgusting and tasteless! but Dhani says her tea tastes fine.. seems Viplav is forgiven!
Viplav says that the stuff is ready and now it needs to be taken to the Navrati fete to be sold. The idea is rejected by Inderani and Dulari.. but Dhani seems to support Viplav's idea of removing the middleman and selling the goods they made by their own hands. Viplav tries to teach them the business tricks of saving money and making profits ,by cutting out the cost of the middleman..
Interesting episode. Eisha without a doubt did a very moving trauma scene. questions are raised about Dhani's past. Itching to know. Dulari like a vicious lioness pounced on Viplav when she sees her cub harmed...was a scene I liked. Mishal's expression were spot on it seemed his face just fell.. being told off by a friend's parent! .. 22.10.15
Precap: Dhani and Viplav at the Navrati mela..competing against each other who'll eat the most amount of golguppa's.. tripurai watching them.. I suspect sent on a spying mission by prabhu..
