After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan going on
record saying that Durga Rani Singh is
"on for sure" we hear reports of Vidya
doing the film as the lead actress...
Vidya Balan and Sujoy Ghosh made the
critically acclaimed Kahaani before their very
public fallout, after Vidya opted out of Sujoy's
ambitious film Durga Rani Singh due to health
concerns. A source reveals that the filmmaker
and the actress have now patched up and will
be working together again. The film? Durga
Rani Singh!
A source close to the actress shares, "Vidya
and Sujoy recently met and the two sorted out
their differences. Sujoy then offered Durga
Rani to her again, and she agreed to do the
biopic. It wasn't too difficult a decision for
Vids because she'd already okayed the script
before opting out citing health reasons. Now
she's completely fine and is looking forward to
teaming up with her Kahaani director."
How did it fall in place? Our khabroo tells us,
"Vidya and Sujoy recently bumped into each
other at a coffee shop. She walked up to him,
tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hi,
remember me? I'm Vidya Balan." Sujoy quickly
responded with a smile, "So are you the
pregnant woman who was looking for her
husband in that film?" Both of them burst out
laughing." Later, they settled down for a
friendly chat and reminisced about their
Kahaani days. They even talked about making
Durga Rani."
It was as though the film needed Vidya. After
her exit from the film, Sujoy approached many
established actresses but nothing worked out.
