IKRS 20th October 2015 ep 62 My Take

True friends are those who tell you the truth about yourself. The sort of truth that perhaps you do not wish to hear. But you can be sure, truth often hurts ,especially if it shows up your weakness rather than strength. True friends are those who can seem cruel but in actual fact they are being kind and doing a service to you. Spotting a weakness in you and being indifferent to it by not raising your awareness to it, is being truly harsh and doing a disservice to you.Viplav is on the lookout for a friend in Dhani.. Does he find one? read on in this episode..

Rearing to go! Viplav charges into the Ashram and is all ready to share good news. He draws everyones' attention but he sees the one who warms the heart is missing. The flavour of the news will become doubly worthy when shared, if Dhani is present. Viplav asks categorically where's Dhani was? judging by the silence and Dulari's snub ,he needn't worry about her. Sheepishly, he fumbles, may be she's at his house, giving treatment to Durga? In his undisciplined eagerness for her, he declares before all , he'll go get her! gets to the door and what do know? he bumps into her at the door ! something gets hold of Viplav and he raises his arm to her head.. in sheer panic she lurches back and wants to know what he is doing? in cocky jest he retorts, why blessing you on the head, that may god give you some wisdom!.. then tells her, he's removing a flower that latches on to her head picks it, gives it to her. Dhani with a smile sniffs it. All eyes are on these two posted before the door unaware of all..Dulari watches in great disdain..as if last night wasn't enough? to her this interaction between her Dhani and buchiwa is progressing much to her displeasure. Viplav realizes moves away then announces, he wants to start a business idea with another company, which exports hand crafted products abroad. He suggests, this business opportunity will give them income that can be reaping the hard work they produce when their handicrafts are sent abroad for their handicrafts. As expected, the women of the Ashram appreciate Viplav's innovative ideas.and this one that outlines a job is fervently clearly accepted, with some gratitude too. this is the moment, when Dhani gives him the packet from his dada ji ! before all he pulls out the wad of cash and clarifies before they get any ideas it's his for squandering! Viplav informs them don't be alarmed as dada ji has given it for them.. to start their business. the widows thank him for all his good deeds how long will he carry on doing one good deed to another. but now Dhani clarifies, let him he's staying here to repent for his sins... with some bitterness in her tone , which shocks him too, she says the words rather his words when she asked him the other night, why he was staying at the Ashram ,he told her to perform penance..there is a certain defiance in Dhani's tone as she asks Viplav a pertinent question.. and you how will you help us?? .how will he help us? he shows her the envelope with the money dada sent for him through Dhani. Thus start her mild, yet tough presentation of such facts that are far to obvious for Viplav to take on board where he's coming from, he fed us in the hotel by his dada ji's money! got this place decorated with his dada ji's money ! so what is his then? it's not his money but all dada ji's money!.. badi amma if you want to say thanks then it should be to dada ji.. not him!. then she looks at Viplav squarely in the face and asks, does he understand what she is saying?? he uses his dada ji' money.. when they are gone! then never mind us, he won't even be able to help himself.. Dhani suggests to Viplav..If he wants to really help then do it with his money..he will elevate his own self- respect. Dhani carries out the difficulty task of sharing the experience of her own life with Viplav a rich man from an affluent background. Boldly she teaches him the lesson of relying upon his hard work , reaping the toils of his sweat and blood ,like she does , to make an honest living! Not relying on the hard work of his family only, but upon himself too. She guarantees it will boost his self esteem and give him an inexplicable joy because he made it himself without the backing of his family. If he trains himself in the quality of self-reliance , he will only have to put into practice what he already has and with each passing day he will gain more self-confidence.. which will fade only when he stops. Viplav is receptive to her words and she seizes the opportunity and gently persuades him to return his dadaji's money..

Dulari off loads with Inderani, she speaks clearly about her concerns regarding Viplav and dhani . she confesses at first she thought it was an infatuation and it would wear off. she tells about how they both made garlands, chatted and laughed in the middle of the night. Dulari confessed it was easy before as Dhani opposed him too but now after Tulsi's dagger incident they seem to gravitating closer to each other. Where Dulari as Dhani's mother is highly strung and protective her child.. Inderani like always is reasonable and has her head screwed the right way, she shows complete trust in how Dulari has brought up Dhani, due to which she has complete faith that Dhani will not bring shame to widow name. As for Viplav , she dismisses him as being childish and flippant in his ways, and as such, she advices Dulari not to make a mountain out of a mole hill! Inderani assures Dulari she has complete trust on Dhani.. ..

Viplav returns home in a mask in his typical style! the impression he gives is that old school Viplav has returned!. frights his dadi! His dada thinks the might of money has brought him back ! in fact so pleased is Dashrant that he wants to give a party to publicize his grandson is back! but Viplav says he only came to return the money...the impact of Dhani's words to him back at the Ashram Viplav now regurgitates in his house as he builds up his feisty Dhani's image before his family!

Experience is the best teacher in life.. Viplav says Dhani that illiterate girl made him aware that asking you for money was childish of me..she has no proof of her knowledge, yet works hard day and night to earn money with self -respect. What I went to teach her.. she was teaching me self- reliance.. Integrity, self- reliance, service to others, respect for others ,tolerance is what makes a good person.. Dhani has such qualities without a formal education.Viplav has a piece of paper to show his theoretical knowledge.. but his character building is gradually building ..Dhani too is learning through her experiences...misjudging people.. rakhsas

Kanak as usual cannot see beyond her Viplav pampering! Dashrant is astute as he doesn't want to lose his grand son. so he goes along and supports viplav he's right I am happy he's come of age! Viplav say, when he becomes self- sufficient, they'll be happier! then! and till then this Ram is in exile from this Ahyodya... and he leaves. Walks past dadi and then goes back to her, then he says, he's returned all the stuff dada ji sent.. bids itto be taken up to his room..dadi wants him to stay for a while.. Viplav goes to room loves his bed gul badan.. spends the night at home.. both Dhani and Viplav have a sleepless night .. Dhani misses him back at the Ashram and Viplav finds gul badan.. too soft for his taste now!

Khetmaal bed bug scene.. two friends bonding, like Raj and Viplav were doing in the previous episode..dhani shares with Suvarna , she doesn't want him to spend his granddad's money on them.. Dhani is bent upon licking him into shape !

Next day breakfast.. Kanak tauts dadi about which food Viplav likes.Dashrant reminds her, he may be your son !but he only listens to his dadi.. shalu says he's gone as he wakes up early ..good habit. He's picked up from the widows of the Ashram.. Dashrant feels how quickly Viplav is changing into a new school mindset.. he is losing hold over Viplav

Just when it is safe to come out! Dulari says it's good buchiwa has gone to his home. Sita mai says, he wasn't that bad as you make him out to be.. Viplav calls he knew it ! , apart from sita dadi no one else loves him at this place! rest of them only pretend to love him! good morning beautiful ladies !! dhani says ,you're back here again! Viplav turns around and says he had to come back to celebrate dushera with all of them! now that they all believe he's not a rakssas he supposes none of them will burn him.. he says to Dhani. Wasn't she the one to say go return dada ji's money. so he has returned it and all the comfort , past times things as well . now for entertainment we won't be watching a film ,I'll be like before a simple dull life... work and yes having a go at you! fighting with you is in itself pure entertainment and why is your mouth open? a fly will dive into your mouth he teased. You wont be able to get rid of Viplav Tirpathi that easily. Dhani says she's saddened because she bad mouthed him so much she shouldn't have said all those things. he said, good she said all those things ! inadvertently it was things that were a boon for him! so easily you taught me the most important lesson of my life, to be self- reliant and now I will show you I make it on my own.. how I am going to fulfil my dream of my love and commitment to you all.. dadi I missed you all so much that I couldn't fall asleep on my own bed.. I am used to a straw bed but Dhani butt in, I expected more from you. he jokes oh I didn't get dadi ladoos, don't worry I 'll send for them tomorrow.. and Dhani questions him , this set of questions Dhani fires at him are largely to please her mother.. she wants Dulari and others to hear that she doesn't want him to stay at all. In fact she is urging to leave..why are you doing all this? why don't you just go home? why are you staying anyway? do you realize how much your family loves you? and Viplav retorts.. don't you love me? all are shocked at his question and wait for Dhani' s reply.. then he averts the embarrassing moment and turns to dadi ,then Suvarna don't you love me? dadi you love me a lot don't you?and he turns to , Inderani , do you wish to see me unhappy? Don't you love me? she replies why would she wish to see him unhappy? Goes to Dulari, he knows she loves bachiwa a lot but doesn't show it.. just wait and watch what all I plan to do! but like I said couldn't sleep so will be going to my room to rest.. and whistling merrily he goes to his room.. Dhani muses ,oh god how will he return home ? now he's in the habit of discomfort too and enjoys it too .. Dulari looks angry ,this cannot last much longer and bachiwa has to go back to his home as soon as possible!

Lovely episode.. loved the gul badan scene, bed bug scene.. now is Viplav really going to change or is he doing so, in order to worm his way into the heart of sweet, upright, staid somewhere a child Dhani.. and I whistle a tune. we'll see we'll see.. Hamlet53 21.10.15

Precap: what kind of wife should Tripurari have? Durga.. and she replies only some one like Dhani comes to mind. do you want a dil like Dhani or do you only want Dhani? I would like Dhani as Tripurari's wife.. says Durga.. it seems to me your thought and my dream both have come true.. says Dashrant.. this is a lemon twist.. will surely bring vips and Dhani together..

Hammie, Hello!

I agree with you that it was a great episode. Your takes are awesome. I rely on them when I am traveling, and sometimes unable to watch the episodes. It is like you paint the episodes with your words.

I am happy that our observations about the bird flying the coop have come true, and Vip has not only returned from home, but also returned the trappings of adolescence in the form of the ball, etc. The ball really symbolises the ball and chain of infantalization of Vip by his family. The infantalization by the Tripathi family of Vip serves 2 purposes: First, it makes DT and Kanak --dominant personalities-- able to be in control at all times; and, second, it ensures that Vip is protected from their wily ways and double standards, not so much because he should be kept unspoiled, but because his nature is that of a renegade and a whistle blower. DT and KT know full well that if Vip were to find out their wily ways of being in the world, not only would he cut off all connections with them, but would also expose them in front of the society by urging them to repent and correct their ways.

Vip's self-styled exile is not without its risks, from the patriarch's standpoint. There is the danger that he will grow up and see through Dasharth's double-dealings. Therefore he should be handled with kid-gloves. In an interesting paradox, DT is still infantalizing VIp. His manner, his tone, etc are indulgent towards Vip because, as you point out, he knows that there is no option left but to agree with his grandson's decision. In upholding Vip's decision to go back to the ashram, DT has a lackadaisical, yet calculating air of choosing his battles, much like an argument-weary father allowing his stubborn adolescent son to camp in the back-yard even though he has a cold. However, I feel that DT is defeated. Beneath the over-confident aura, he is insecure.

In a nice parody of the Ramayana, Vip, the modern Rama, leaves his father (?) figure, Dasharath, to go to the forest life symbolized by the ashram of the widows. The modern Rama is passionate, and like his ancient counterpart, a lover of what is right and correct. Technically speaking, the modern Dasharath has two wives, not three, but we must metaphorically count Kanak as the third, as she strives to be DT's equal in every way, and also languishes for his attention and approval. While ancient Ayodhya was a bustling kingdom of righteousness and festivities, the modern Ayodhya, meaning, the unconquerable one, is a miserable mansion, an empty citadel and a hotbed of sedition, intrigue, and lust for power. Ayodhya, Dasharath's mansion has stories to tell, but the walls will remain silent rather than champion what is correct. Dasharatha of the Ramayana was a truthful dharmic person, whereas the modern Dasharath is wily, two-timing, and contriving. In fact, despite his monicker, he also represents the demonic being, Ravana. Sushma Dadi is Kaushalya, the first wife of the ancient Dasharath, and the mother of Lord Rama. Although technically Kanak is the mother, Sushma has done all the mothering of Viplav, in the sense of teaching him values that count. Kanak (who, like her ancient counterpart, Kaikeyi also has two "k"s in her name) the modern version of Kaikeyi, gives the real Kaikeyi a run for her money. Kanak is quintessential and conniving, a woman of high ambitions and expectations. Like the ancient Kaikeyi, Kanak will not allow her son to be who he is; instead she wants to mold him according to her own agenda. Durga represents Sumitra, the third wife of Dasharath, who in the Ramayana, has twins --Lakshmana and Shatrughna. Tripurari, is both Lakshmana and Shatrughna. Face-to-face with the patriarch and his family, Trip is like Lakshmana, an embodiment of filial duty and sacrifice. Behind the scenes, he seethes with the anger, and the evil twin (not that Shatrughna was evil) comes out --a totally different personality that is in keeping with the name, if not the character, of Shatrughna, which means "the slayer of enemies."

The widows represent the vanara-sena, the army of humanoids (monkey-like) that will help the modern Rama unveil and vanquish Ravana. Like the vanaras, the widows are misunderstood and shunned by the society.

With this backdrop in mind, I am excited to see how the plot thickens. A version of this post also appears in the main forum:

Hello Hammie.
I loved reading this take on last episode of IKRS . And my best scene was the same one you chose. Seeing ViDha sleepless in Benaras..wormed my heart. Like true soulmates they didn't bear separation even for a night.

Viplav changed a lot ..but I don't think he is doing this to find his way to Dhani's life. It seems like he really enjoys this new life style. He doesn't show a small regret . He returned each one of his beloved things. I still remember how happy he was when he received them few episodes ago. I think he returned that Jeep too.

Any way. That moment when he asked Dhani if she loves him..was another beautiful moment. I am sure he wants to know the answer. He wants and needs Dhani's love. He left his daadi, sister, mom and girlfriend for Dhani..and I won't be surprised if he started loving her since the first meeting itself. This unnoticed love motivated Viplav to change..and how!

hello hammie...another as usual awesome good take...
Dhaani just motivated him in very light tone...it is also not kind of insulting thing... when some says u just everytime rely on somebody everytime...This really hurts one's ego no matter how much he want to control about his feelings...But Viplav didn't burst here...he just deep analysed her words and came to sensible solution...

Right now 2 people are more influenced in viplav's life...

1)Daadi...viplav will never let down daadi's words and her teachings...just upon one request he agreed to stay in home for one night...Nobody able to convinced him for this...

2)Dhaani--Her one positive taunt made him realize that he should help others by his own...This is really good quality he has adopted very readily without any hesitations and second thoughts...
It is Dhaani who is bringing in right path...
expectations are reaching sky high with every passing episode...
in today's episode u will be shocked to know that Dhaani is accused of murder of her husband..well we dont know about what has happened in her past...just watch today's episode asap!!!
