I tried to get some insight into Gayatri from the October 16th episode. What she must have been feeling? Why she reacted in such an extreme way. Here is what I came up with.

She does have high expectations from life. She kind of reminds of Gatsby of the great Gatsby. Always living in delusional land trying to attain something that is not attainable.

When Gayatri wakes up she must have been elated. She has been spoiled by RNJ's affections and care for an entire day. The man she has always greatly loved and admired. It was what she had been dreaming for all along. She learns that he has been caring and guarding her all night. Little does she know that he is only doing all these thing out of mere guilt. To her it feels like her dreams are slowly coming alive. That is why she gives him the dreamy look she does in the morning. Than Yashoda walks over and gives further hope and light to Gayatri's dreams. She tells her that man you love, that you thought was never going to love you back was up all night didn't sleep till just now and he was applying ointment to you wounds to help you feel better, and she even added a word or two about love. If Gayatri had been living in dream land since the past day, than what was this going to do? She is now overwhelmed with hope. Her dream is slowly becoming attainable right before her eyes. So she switches once again into her fairytale zone and decides to return the affections she has been getting continuously for the past day from her husband. She wants to make him black coffee. Her heart beats as her sari gets caught into RNJ's clothes its like even destiny wants them to be close.

Just than her world once again comes crashing down. Its like the destiny always plays a joke on her. It makes her dream come so close to reality than have it fall apart. The first when her father fixed her marriage which she felt was out of love but than she later had realized was a business deal that her love also held her responsible for. Today she experienced a similar heart break. After being pampered, spoiled and indulged by her love for an entire day. The harsh reality once again comes back to hit her hard. This wasn't a man who loved her. He was doing what he did out of responsibilities of being a King. He wasn't the Prince Charming who would love and pamper her forever but he instead wanted to get rid of her. The insecurities of being a dark horse or labeled manglik all her life came back to haunt her. The taunts of her sister-in-laws that she will never be loved in her life. RNJ was repaying debts, he wanted to get rid of her, by the diwali he wanted to remain indebted. She was his debt to him, nothing more?

Gayatri is very different from what RNJ envisioned her to be. She is infact very much like a 1940s character who only dreamed about being a wife and never a queen. Now that independence is encouraged in woman and so is the aim for careers and identity apart from being just your husband's wife most of us would have jumped at the opportunity to be a Queen. But Gayatri's dreams start and end with being RNJ's wife. I guess we have to think back to the ideal woman of her time to understand her feelings and understand what triggered the outburst and tantrum from her end. Her dream of being a wife, which she never felt could come true is playing games with her. In moments it comes close to becoming reality and than fades away. Thus her outburst at RNJ about why she is a debt? She wants to fight for it. RNJ lead her on and dropped her in the jungle. To her RNJ lead her on, once again after the jungle to dropped her back into reality once again. "She yells at him about his facade, of taking care of her, his facade of staying up all night to tend her wounds." When he tells her to go rest. She retorts back "What are going to leave me in the jungle again? She taunts him your a king you to do whatever you please.

She was tired of being lead on to be dropped later like a toy. So she her self decides to accept her fate that she will be deprived of her dream forever. That she was going to get thrown out of RNJ's life like a toy is why she NOW wants to repay the debt. She wants to clean the chandelier. She wants to help him get rid of her.

She excepts it but with furry that the dream she had always dreamed of played games with her. It came so close to becoming reality then faded away. She is over-zealous extremely volatile, furious and mad at her destiny for always playing games with her, and extremely vulnerable.

Perfect analysis of our Rani Gayatri, poor girl's only dream n mission for now is to have a perfect home n a loving husband. All this because of her mother, as she's always telling her that her life is nothing without a husband, so for Gaytri, Rana ji's acceptance of her as a wife is a matter of life and death. But am sure if CV's handle it properly tou Rani Gayatri will soon emerge as a strong queen, once she get out of this personal turmoil.

Interesting perspective. ...but I feel that gayatri needs to be a little realistic. ..she knows RNJ still loves his sona and moreover he distrusts her, the reasons are known to her...my point is what makes her feel that when he gets to know about her innocence he will automatically start to love her...its pretty preposterous imo...

RNJ needs time to sort out his issues...his vision is cloded so I think gayatri should give him time instead of flying off the handle and behave with maturity. ..

of course she should not let RNJ or for that matter any royal run over her...she should firmly put her foot down, which she has been doing lately, and also cold shoulder RNJ...pay him back in the same coin, but without any rancour and definitely without any expectation that it's going to fetch her results. ..

Lovely perspective into RNG
I admit II find it difficult to connect to Gayatri at times..even if I view her as a woman of 1940s

I understand her hopeful stance..more so as she has always been a dreamer..but she has time and again understood the reality too
The doubts she spoke to Suvarnalekha about, before she went to jungle..even after the rescue drama and RNJ taking care of her..she questioned him as to who was taking care of her..a king or her husband..she is aware of the reality as such
Which is why the ouburst after she heard about him repaying the debt didnt sit well with me

Damn..I sound like a broken record

I think we were ALL hoping for her to wake up out of her dreamland and focus on being a Queen but refuses to. Perhaps because her dream has came close to becoming reality so many times and than faded away.
I would like to see Gayatri let go of her dream obsession and emerge as a strong queen.

I agree Gayatri found out all those thing she should have just left RNJ alone. But then the jungle fiasco happened where he sort of lead her on. Than after the jungle fiasco she kind of got lead on again. So being around someone who love everyday and trying to move on ignoring your feelings.

Agree that would be MY ideal version of Gayatri but I am trying to crack down the writers take.

I have never completely connected with Gayatri. Her desperation for RNJ affection has always been a turn off for me. Ever since the beginning. I didn't like the fact that she had no other aims in life other than to be RNJ's wife.

I am just trying to decode the possible psych that went into that reaction. Of course I dont approve of her behaving that way. I am just trying to explain it.

Insightful take on Gayathr,i Grupmy.

Want to add it was her Dad, who dared her to dream, when her Mom& Bhabhis were lamenting & taunting her for being unwed & unlucky. And, i guess, her brothers supported her, till the wedding fiasco happened, then they sided with the women, only Govind Seth stood by her.

It was her Dad, who bought her, her dream-man and he was the one who told her to fight for her love.
IMO, G tries to be the subservient wife, her Mom has tutored her to be (her throwing herself at RNj after returning frm maika & making black coffee etc) and she also tries to be the winner, her Dad prodded her to be.
Abt giving RNJ some space- she has a deadline and she can't be bothered with niceties.😆

I dont really appreciate the subservient factor myself Simran. I am just trying to analyze about what triggered the extreme reaction of cleaning chandeliers and all. It her dream playing games with her. A moment it comes so close that it seems real. Than in moment its shattered again and she faces heart break.

nice analysis of whole scene ..
gayatri just start making assumptions too soon .. like taking his gestures as love , which wasnt love but a mere guilt making him do all that stuff and bear her tantrums ...

in all this she easily forgot that he did tell her , there is no relationship between them but a king and queen or hatred .. taking all his gestures , and connecting them to her dreams ,she did expect high once again .. only to get her expectations crashed by his one sentence ..

he want to get rid of debt , which means gayatri too ... and then what she did , didnt make any sense to me ..cleaning the chandlier in that state , when u just got shot and wasnt able to have soup last night , and even holding the book was difficult ., with same hand she was cleaning the heavy chandelier ..
