Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi' has been in the news for few years now. Initially, the film was offered to Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor but due to various reasons, the actors opted out.
Later, it was learnt that KJo had cast Salman Khan in the lead and then everybody was eagerly waiting to know which actress will bag the lead role.
But it seems, things didn't work out there as well and the film finally went to Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. Everything was hunky dory and Karan also declared that Shuddhi will release in Christmas 2016, until recently a report that surfaced in a leading daily said that the film has been shelved.
Though there have been no official announcements regarding the same, the rumour has been strong in the industry about the film not happening.
Alia too chose to stay mum over the issue. When we asked Alia about it, she said, "I don't think I am the right person to talk about it. The official announcement should be made by the makers. I can't say anything that isn't declared. I am the wrong person. I am just an actor. I just have to say yes or no. How, where and what about the film is the producers call."
Guess, we shall have to wait some more to know the exact status of the movie!
