Why Ash is ignored for Robot2? Amy signed as lead

Amy Jackson has just signed the biggest film of her career so far. The actress has been cast opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikanth in the sequel to his 2010 blockbuster Enthiran' which featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead.

Award-winning filmmaker Shankar, who directed the first film, will also be directing the sequel.

Enthiran 2, which is expected to be titled Robot 2 in Hindi, will go on floors in the first half of 2016. The film will have never-before-seen VFX and also have plenty of action for the audience.

After two back-to-back debacles in the form of Kochadaiiyaan' and Lingaa', Rajnikanth is currently shooting for Kabali' which is tentatively scheduled to release during the same weekend as Shah Rukh Khan's Fan.

Rajnikanth will complete the final shooting schedule of Kabali this year and immediately move on to Enthiran 2.

British model turned Indian actress Amy, who was recently seen in Singh Is Bling', has played the lead in 3 Tamil films so far - including Shankar's last film I'. She made her Hindi debut in the film Ekk Deewana Tha' opposite Prateik Babbar, back in 2012.

There are reports that Enthiran 2 will also be shot in 3D. The tentative release date is year 2017.
