hi all,
So I'm just curious - what exactly is the story or plot of KKB?

Is it a story about a plain jane who marries a super cool rockstar - both are poles apart and find companionship and "true" love what ever that means?

Is it a story about a mom who can't seem to find a suitable groom for her daughter and once she does - daughter does everything to make her sham of a marriage work?

Is it a story of evil sister and gf who have nothing better to do but plot ways to leech money off of a rockstar?

What exactly is the story of this show?

Its extremely irritating to see so much footage wasted on dumb plots and schemes none of which seem to get resolved!

When is it going to be clarified that Raj went to jail because his WIFE made him sign illegal papers?
When is it going to be clarified that Aaliya was behind the kidnapping of Pragya (that lovely 2 months Pragya spent in the same clothes)?
Are they ever going to clear the mystery that Tanu is pregnant with someone else's kid?
Pragya and her master plan of turning tough and shrewd to set everything straight with Dadi's help - does she even have a solid plan! They have no concrete plan! They seem to be winging it and hatching half baked ideas - so ridiculous!

What exactly is the role of Purab and Bulbul? They literally have nothing to do - "Purab is miss you! Main tumse baat nahin karungi" Or some jazz like that - thats pretty much the scope of their interactions. So sad - both those characters had so much more potential.

Pragya and Abhi's story - just their story alone had SO much more potential - she's a plain jane - he's super cool - they get married under absurd circumstances - he doesn't like her but she grows on him. How they find similarities in each other - explore how a person's core values are what connect people not what kind of car they drive or where they shop etc.

Why do shows do this? Every K-ekta show has so much potential but they all turn into saas bahu sagas - the supporting actors take precedence, main characters hardly have any character development and as always - evil wins over good but at the very end - read a week before the show goes off air - all issues get resolved, all villans are punished and miraculously everything is sorted.

Totally agree with you...

But the TRPs prove us wrong.
Audience ( TRPs ones) like this.

The show is doing well with awesome TRPs.

Story/ plot doesn't matter to EK. All that she wants is TRPs which will fetch them profits. The show is gaining that.

So we cannot do anything except ranting here or stop watching 😕

The show has so much to explore. Shabbir , Sriti, Shikha , mrunal, Arjit etc are good actors so much more can be shown using them..

Hi there!
thank u so much for your post! Glad to see that I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I never understood the TRP charts/measurements etc. I know Indians around the world are a sizable population which leads to considerable viewership. However what I fail to understand is the genre or strata of people that drive the TRPs - pretty much everyone I know will either watch these shows and then give up after a point as the plot gets too absurd to keep up with and viewers lose patience. Indians by and large are not dense people - most of them are quite rational - how do they put up with this?
Its clearly a cycle - viewers (you know who you are!) lap this nonsense up thus generating TRPs likewise PH and channels keep dishing it out. The other part is also confusing - some shows get axed when the plots are too over the top and ridiculous with the plotting and scheming - just in the last few years Zee has seen so many shows come and go - how do those shows get axed so quickly (Punar Vivah season 2, Khelti Hai Zindagi Ankh Mein Choli, Ek Mutthi Aasman, Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se, Aur Pyar Ho Gaya, Service Wali Bahu, Hello Pratibha just to name a few)
All those shows start with a good theme/some kind of social message, something to explore and then boom goes off air.

Why not KKB?

I don't know about why others fail or go off air..
I watched pv .. Not pv2.

Punar Vivah was a good one with a nice social message.added to that the cast was amazing.loved both the leads. The kids were cute. Though story annoyed me in between the cast and the characters made me glued to it.

Pv2... Firstly I couldn't digest the fact that some one else are going to take the place of the leads I love.secondly the actors weren't impressive ( at least to me) , most importantly the plot was a sad one.
I hate to watch a woman suffering always.so don't watch that at all.

So every soap has a usp.. Actors , drama or bring a loyal viewer makes a difference.
KB genre has drama along with humour.

It's a light hearted. Many of them watch it with a few other soaps. They don't mind wat is happening in it. They just need entertainment and I believe KB gives it.

We have a few humorous scenes and some romance, nok-joks etc..along with the drama.
The leads are good. They are many people who watch the show for Sriti/ Shabbir regardless of the story.

Though I am a trp viewer I never watch soaps which are angsty or which are meaningless.
KB is my first soap with all this family plotting , drama etc..

I watched ipkknd and pv in the past and both were short and sweet.

Ek starts soap with so much good themes and actors that people get addicted to eat and when the plot becomes annoying they have traveled so far that it's not easy to give up..

I am in such a state now. There was a time when I used to watch the epi2-3 times a day.

It's almost a month I watched an episode fully.may be if this continues I will give up completely..
Who knows ? I dint think I will do what I am doing now ..

Balagi telefilms is a big brand. Shows from it will not be axed just like tad..
Moreover this is the only show of zee which is in top 5 sometimes only one in top 10 too..

The story is going nowhere. Still stuck in the same place. Wish Aliya would be outed and Tanu's pregnancy lie gets exposed.
