I couldnt take today's epi. Not sure how I am gonna take tomorrow's epi. How little Dr Shukla understood his daughter and how well Chander knew her.
The way Chander was explaining what kind of a man Sudha should marry, I was telling Dr Shukla in my mind. Mr Shukla cant you open your eyes and see the gentleman is right in front of you. Cant you see the happiness in your daughter's eyes when she is around him.
Cant you understand he will walk her like a queen in his life. But no. The moment Dr Shukla tells he has to be a Brahmin the way Chander looks. Rahil completely sealed it. The masking of pain was too good and the way he stands looking at Sudha and Kailash's photo. I could understand his dilemma. The deep dilemma. Sudha's words were prophetic. Sometimes the society is unfair to the girls.

Not sure how I am gonna take rest of the epi. The first one itself is brilliantly enacted to touch your heart strings.

I agree completely..While reading the novel I was also surprised why Dr. Shukla couldn't understand Sudha's feeling for Chandar till the end or may be he understood but couldn't accept to get his daughter married to a non Brahmin. Almost everyone from Geshu, Pammi to Binti could see their love but not Dr. Shukla!

Today's episode was heart-wrenching in every way. More than the first half the second half tore my heart right out.

Dr. Shukla really portrays those shallow people really well who believe caste is everything. Even today there are people like him everywhere. He may appear to be open to everything, but he isn't. And the way he said he has to be a Brahmin was enough to prove that more than a thousand words could. Somewhere I do feel that he sees that Sudha and Chander are perfect for each other, but this thought that the boy has to be Brahmin clouds his judgment. Additionally for him Chander is someone who is indebted to him so he can do what he wants and Chander will not object. I would also say that's he's very cunning in a way. He knew that Sudha would never agree to the marriage if he went to talk to her, but that Sudha never refuses Chander and that's why he sent Chander. If he really understands that the 2 love each other then what better way to separate them then by making the person indebted to you tell the person he loves to marry someone else.

But really more than the first half, the second half tore my heart apart like I said above. The way Chander and Sudha said that they love each other without actually saying those words. The conversation. The tears. The pain. When Chander slaps Sudha, the way both burst out crying and then Sudha cares for him instead of being angry. Every little bit pierced into the heart.

This show is really, really, really well done. The actors are more than excellent. They are just perfect. The way Rahil and Umang handled the scene made you want to reach out because you could actually feel the pain. The director has done a fantastic job with the way the scene was portrayed and the different camera angles for the different parts. The dialogue writer has written some absolutely fantastic dialogues.

I know this show is only for 20 episodes, but truth be told this is one show that I would love even more if it continued more than that.

@ Shruti: very well expressed the reality of Dr Shukla. Being an educated person...still he gives priority to birth than Karm...throughout the episode I felt bad for Chander and Sudha...and both the actors were more than too good...I think the novel is sarcasm on the cast system...if in future Chander goes on wrong route and Sudha is not happy in her marriage...it is the evil cast system that made in their lives through Dr Gupta.

I 100% agree with you Shreya! I wish this show continued too! I really wish I could read the book but I'm not able to find it anywhere for free! Every scene with Chander and Sudha makes me very overwhelmed with emotions, I just love them completely. Umang Jain is my fave actress I have been watching her on Tv ever since sunaina, at first I really doubted her as to whether she'd be able to pull off such a tough character but she seemed to prove everyone wrong! I love Rahil and Umang they have done a beautiful Job. I just wish the show was a bit longer too. I also just wish Dr.Shukla understood their love for each other, everyone understood even Pammi (of course) but he didn't. However maybe deep down he knew but he is just too hands-on about society and culture and so he thought that these things should never change and be the same forever. I just hope he'll come to know that their relationship actually has or had a name before this show ends.

@Shreya I was talking about epi 12, epi 13 I watched only now and I completely agree to you. The way Sudha asks Chander you didn't hurt your hand, I was like 😭😭😭😭. Can love be this pure, can love be this beautiful. And who is responsible for tearing apart such a love. Society and its rules or we ourselves

^ Oh sorry. I thought you were talking about epi 13. 😊

I say it's both. Because who makes society and its rules? We do. And then who enforces them? We do. And then who has to follow them. We have to. So why is it that we can't change society and its rules once we make them? Why do people have to follow the rules so blindly that it takes away a person's free will and right to choose and right to freedom? The rules should be to make life easier, not make things harder.

Yes Shreya.Rules have to change according to time. And see the effect. I couldnt even watch today's epi. What kind of a marriage it is. Sudha's heart is not at all there in it.
Sudha was the biggest stakeholder in the marriage. Her father didnt ask her what she want. He was afraid I would say. Because if he had asked Sudha would have told Chander and Dr Shukla would have been in a dilemma.
That's why he cleverly used Chander to get what he wants, not what Sudha wants.

^ I usually watch the episodes when I get home, but this one I just had to see so I took a quick break and watched on my phone and I must say that today's episode was like a continuation of yesterday.

Both have accepted their fate in the beginning. They've accepted that they can't be together, but now they must also be separate. Far as Sudha is no longer alone. She is married. And they took those baby steps when Sudha accepted that she has lost her childishness from yesterday and then goes on to get her shoe fixed alone without making a fuss.

And the marriage. I can't believe that Dr. Shukla would ruin his own daughter like that. She's dying slowly with each step, with each phera, with each vow. And because she can't refuse Chander and Chander can't refuse Dr. Shukla, they both accept it quietly, dying together, as Dr. Shukla probably gloats in his ingenuity.

Dr. Shukla isn't all bad. I understand that he wants the best for his daughter, but at the same time, he needs to ask his daughter what she wants because it's her choice after all. And he missed this basic step in his demand for a Brahmin son-in-law. Ek baat sochi nahi. Ke agar beti nahi rahegi toh Brahmin damad ka kya achar dalega?
