This post is in regards to the road crossing scene that happened Episode #43 (?). You all know which one I'm talking about.
Even if you don't, I'll break it down for you all and also add in my two cents into it.
- Twinkle and Kunj are both walking towards the temple, but Kunj manages to cross the road first while Twinkle is left behind because of the traffic.
- Let's suppose that the road they are crossing is a metaphor for their lives. If we look at Kunj, he has the mature mentality to be able to guide himself safely. Twinkle on the other hand does not. She is still bombarded with major obstacles and she becomes so overwhelmed by them that she begins taking drastic steps that may risk her life.
- Kunj who had safely reached the other side, looked back and saw Twinkle standing alone.
- Now, considering he was already on the safe side, he could have just waited there for Twinkle to come on her own. But seeing her there being frustrated with all the obstacles, he is unable to stop himself from helping her out.
- Again, this is not an act of romantic love, it is out of compassion and the love of humanity.
- Twinkle, who was on the other side of the road, complained about how Kunj left on his own and did not even bother to help her out.
- This frustration is out of habit. She has become so used to Kunj helping her out in minor things that she had simply assumed he would help her out this time as well.
- Since I have already associated Kunj to be a messenger of God or to be equivalent of divine nature, I'm going to expand on what this means for Twinkle.
- Up to the release of this episode, we have continuously seen Kunj helping Twinkle out without her asking. By preventing major atrocities being committed upon her he has been, in a sense, her guardian angel.
- However, ever since that disastrous night, her faith has been completely shaken. That innate trust that she had in Kunj was shattered as he was the one man that she was able to rely on even when she didn't have a choice.
- So when Kunj left her on the road, it hurt her really bad. She could have interpreted it as Kunj deliberately leaving her just like he had sinned against her. Him showing his "true colors" in a manner.
- Kunj comes back to Twinkle to help her out but is taunted by her again.
- It is not in Kunj's nature to leave anyone in need behind. He will do the right thing and help them out, whatever the cost may be. In this case, he knew that Twinkle is still angry with him and would much rather be alone than take his help. But he still tried because regardless of what Twinkle may say or behave because he knows that she wouldn't be able to make it across without his help.
- She takes major steps at the wrong time and errs while making her decisions. She still needs to learn when to act at the right time and most importantly learn how to enhance her judgment skills.
- If we are to apply the metaphor of their lives here again, then we can say that Kunj is there to help teach Twinkle how to behave in a mature manner, make appropriate decisions and most importantly trust herself. At this point in her life, she is no state of trusting herself due to the major incident that happened to her and the way her trust in others is constantly being broken.
- Kunj extends his hand out for Twinkle to take but she refuses.
- This is a simple statement. Kunj is reaching out a hand of friendship towards Twinkle despite her actions towards him. But she misunderstanding his friendship to be an excuse of touching her again, blatantly refuses and insults him again.
- Let's apply the notion of Kunj being the divine messenger here once again. We have seen Twinkle consistently asking God for a sign or a way to help her resolve her inner conflict; to help her figure out what exactly happened that night.
- Kunj extending his hand is highly symbolic if we apply it in the divine manner. Kunj is the one clear and direct manner that Twinkle can interact with to come to terms with what really happened that night. Engaging in a conversation with him without any malice or biases in her mind, she can lay out her doubts before him and have him give her an explanation.
- Kunj walks ahead while clearing out a safe path for her but also uses his body to protect her from any impending harm.
- If Twinkle does end up marrying Kunj, this is going to be how their life is going to look like.
- It will be devoid of any physical intimacy, but Kunj will not step back from fulfilling his vows. He will still protect her from the harms and dangers of the world. He will allow her to be her own individual person even if the world dictates that Twinkle must follow in Kunj's shadow.
- Yes, Twinkle is walking behind Kunj and is using his help to navigate herself in the world (in the domestic marital sphere and the public sphere due to the scandal); but that doesn't mean that she is not creating herself as a person. She is learning from him and is taking steps on her own.
All in all, this is going to be a long path for both Twinkle and Kunj that is going to be filled with many obstacles for them. The hurdles will consist of figurative, literal, metaphorical, emotional, mental etc. Despite their inhibitions, they are relying on each other to be each other's support in getting through this.
