Sanjay Gupta denies Jazbaa is remake of Korean movie Seven Days

Sanjay Gupta's Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-Irrfan Khan starrer Jazbaa hits the screens this week and buzz is, the film is the official remake of a Korean film called Seven Days. However, Sanjay has denied that Seven Days is the source for Jazbaa. "We have got the rights to a Korean film, but I can't divulge details yet as per the contract. And no, it is not Seven Days," Sanjay told us.

So how does he feel about his films being called copies of international projects? "I prefer not to react. These are some petty people and I don't even find it worth my while to react," he said.

With a lot of attention being focused on Aishwarya's "comeback" in Jazbaa, Sanjay told us how he got her on board. "It's a very exciting script and for the hero' of the film, we needed a strong female protagonist. During one of my meetings with Abhishek (Bachchan) for a film we were supposed to do, I happened to tell him about this script. He told Ash about it and she liked it, I met her for a narration and she was on board. We completed the film in a record 51 days and each day was a battle with its own challenges " but the end product is worth it." Sanjay is known to shoot his films at real locations rather than on sets, and he did so with Jazbaa as well. "I'm not a set person," Sanjay explained. "I need to use the smell and feel of locations to tell my story, even if that comes with a lot of challenges."
