I apologize for my choice of these particular words..."big city mentality"..."small town"...😛 Guilty as charged, I should have thought twice before I posted that reply to this thread. I guess I was really pissed off at Sahil & Debo, so I couldn't help but express my anger in a somewhat distorted way.
LOL...I myself, was born in and always grew up in "big cities"...either in my own country or in Western nations. I am well aware of the unjustified arrogance some of our "big city" brethren harbor, due to being economically, educationally and culturally superior to their rural counterparts. I know most people nowadays have moved away from this archaic perspective, but there still are some messed up individuals who still think in this way. I'm really big on equality, fraternity, liberty and all that...and I for one, cannot tolerate such backward nonsense. My ranting aside, 😛 I didn't mean to accuse anyone unknowingly of being infected with this "big city mentality" virus. And it's true, what Clarity, DU, Sandi and others have pointed out. In reality, what I have assumed without having any concrete knowledge might not be the actual case at all. Rajshri might be occupied with her own circle of friends, or she might not be the type of person to attend such parties or social gatherings (I should understand this very well, being the ultra-shy, awkward, "un-social" butterfly that I am 😆). So it was wrong of me to make those statements about these people without sufficient evidence to back my claims. I take back my words. But no matter what the reason for Rajshri's absence from this event is, I'll always sympathize with the girl and I'm pretty sure she is the one who is victimized in most situations. 😭
