I am not a fan of this show. Because i think they stretch the plot so thin and the characters are living is self induced bubbles.
However, I occasionally change the channel because i want to understand why Varun Badola would do such a show and I love watching Karam smile 😳

I have read the many view points on the forum regarding recent changes in the behavior from Kaushalya and Nimmi.

I fail to understand why everyone is against Nimmi. If I found my mother being made to bow down in front of someone younger and newer in the family, i would raise a bigger hell than what Nimmi did. Because just like children are their parent's pride, Children also place a lot of pride in their parents' honor.
Nimmi didn't see the whole drama... Nimmi didn't see things from the beginning. Even if she did, she would not let her mother be humiliated by someone who just showed up yesterday.

Kausalya is not your everyday woman of today. She comes from a background where women were less educated and all they knew was how to manage households. Thats what they were taught from childhood and that is what she is asked to teach her daughters. She has not known or seen a world where women have more freedom...why would she not expect Riya to know how to handle household chores. Ofcourse she is surprised...her comment about not having a mother...wasn't an accusation...it was her surprise to know that women can come of age without having a femail relative teach them about cooking and household chores. That is not her world.

Kausalya's world is about to turn upside down and she has only seen a glimpse of it so far and it was too much for her to bear, so her emotional balance is tipping. The difference in treatment that Riya gets both from Shanti and from Shivam as her husband, shows Kausalya the mirror of truth because she has been living under a pretense that what she does to "keep the peace" is infact what actually keeps the peace and that is what daughter-in-laws are expected to do. She is for the first time seeing the injustice done to her in the form of what is not tolerated by Riya and so she doesn't know what to think anymore...how to accept the fact that she has been at a disadvantage her whole life.

There are bound to be more 'mistakes' from Kausalya that will happen, until she finds her own identity that is separate from the woman who seeks to be validated by her in-laws. Riya in this situation is an agitator who created an imbalance in Khushiya's life because Khushiya no longer finds a way to keep her bubble intact. She is clearly seeing that her MIL hates her but is not quiet ready accept that yet.

agree to every point of yours ! it the same nimmi who got slapped by sarla while trying to unite riya and shivam ! any daughter would have been furious seeing her mother apologising to someone of her age...
probably she would have expected riya to sort out the saree issue personally with khushiya rather than saying it infront of everybody! it is the same nimmi who voluntarily designed a saree for her riya bhabi...
but yeah she dint go far by burning the sarees but her anger was justified from her side...and nimmi has stood up for her mother against dadi too this shows how much her mothers pride matters for her so it not like she is jealous of riya..!

khushiya was surely not kind with her word to riya in the kitchen scene.. bringing in riya's mother was not necessary ..it was very offensive but she did mean to help riya she later calmed down riya saying how even she dint know how to cook initially but later learnt everything in 4 days..if you all remember how happy khushiya was to give riya her mom's necklace during mooh dhikai rasam you'll realise she is not even an inch close to shanthi..

everyone is furious over khushiya for being mean to riya ...but even riya did tell something which was nice for khushiya...when shivam and riya were having an argument riya was like after all the scene your mom created you are blaming me .. it was khushiyas concern for shivam ...

@ TM. Lov your DP.

Will get back to this after I rewatch the sari incident coz I thought Nimmi was there the entire time the sari incident happened and that is why could not get why she was blaming Riya and not telling the truth to Shivam.

Very well said agree with you 100% No kids would like to see their parents humilated and as for Riya I see how Shanti treats every one at home and she still thinks that old lady is sweet.

To give Riya credit, Shanti has been sweet to her and nice to her whereas as she mentioned to her dad , MIL is very strict in that house and daadi is very sweet. So she does not know what Daadi is made of

THe only one to guide her is Shivam who is going thru his PMS problems. He expects her to find out on her own about Shanti but how fair is that to your new wife . I am not saying that he should badmouth Shanti but give some pointers on the differences of all in that house. Come on , she was there for one night and the next day had to rush for Pag phere for 4 days and then just returned back to the fasting and sari incident. When will she know about anybody. How can one make an judgement from one night?

I think this show is lacking communication. No communication between Raghav and his wife and now none between his son and dil. History repeats itself

The only one to communicate to all is Shanti and she is enjoying her high throne. Would love to see her fall just enough to appreciate Raghav and his family.

Thanks everyone for reading and responding to the post. I was not intending to take one side over another. I am not supportive of Khushiya who like everyone else here says doesn't support her kids over the whims of a senile elderly woman.
I also don't support Nimmi who explodes at every situation, instead of using her God-given good sense to actually help her family members out of trouble, because she the only member of Shivam's family that both understands the personalities in the household and has the courage to do something about it... but yet her anger always gets the better of her.

I also don't support Riya who doesn't take two seconds before falling into the sweet talking Dadi without realizing that she should get to know the family members on her own. She was present when Nimmi purposefully helped delay her wedding to the wrong guy and she thanked NImmi for it. Why would she hear from Dadi that Nimmi and Preeti are out to get her and not think twice about it...why take all the drama from Dadi and Sarla at face value.

The less said about the men the better. Their brains are useless. I sometimes doubt they have any.

Sarla's family is not even worthy of mentioning

The only person I kind of like is Rani. She knows how to survive in any situation...she may not be the brightest in the room but she knows what she wants and how to get it. Love her attitude and the fact that she shows little angst at Sarla and her kids' antics...she knows whats important in her life and she ignores everything else.
