EPILOGUE:

6 Years later...

Kabir looked at his watch... It read 2 pm... He closed his open file, gave a call to the canteen, asking his Tiffin stuff to be warmed up and brought to his cabin, just like the daily schedule was... And he himself walked out of the KKN's office to stand at one corner of the road, and a few minutes later, a school bus stopped in front... Kabir immediately walked up to the gate to help his son, Karan jump off the tall step, who out rightly refused his father to be put down on the floor after being picked up... The stubborn impish child daily had the habit to jump off the last step of the bus, down on the road, and the thumping heart of the father just ready to catch his son in time just in case the lad lost his balance... So one hand in his father's big hand, and Karan jumped off the stair, and walked merrily swaying his water bottle hung around his neck... Kabir brought him to one corner of the road, and bent down to tie his son's shoe lace... "Karan, beta aap ek din gir jaaoge agar lace aise hi khule rakhoge..." the father admonished his soon to be 4 year old son... The little boy, held on to his father's head to hold on to the balance while he with all the clever thinking he had, spoke up the reason- "Mujhse achhe se lace tie nahi hote papa... Pehle mummy ache se tie kar deti thi... Ab toh wo apne lace bhi aapse hi banwaati hain..."... Kabir looked up at his kid... He smiled... Good observation... He thought... The kid tried acting smart crossing his hands on his chest... Kabir stood up, patting his son's chubby cheeks, held his hand again, and walked him inside KKN... The kid said hello to everyone whom he met on his way to his father's cabin, where soon after throwing his bag on the sofa, ran into the washroom, with Kabir keeping his belongings straight, setting his lunch, and opening his classwork copies to see his homework, when he heard the kid open the washroom's gate attached to his cabin... And the father immediately fired the question- "Karan, did you wash your hands?"... " Arre yes papa... I did... See, they are wet... I like the smell of the hand wash... hmmm..." the kid answered spontaneously, busy smelling his fragrant hands... And Kabir smiled ruefully... His wife just this morning scolded him to be keeping such a bad smelling hand wash, cursing the makers of losing the quality of products... And the same hand wash is appreciated by her own son now... Mood swings... Kabir thought, and shook the thought off, to concentrate on the present work... He opened his son's copies in front of him on the coffee table... But he ran off and sat on his father's boss chair... "Papa main yahin baith ke likhunga... Yahan deejiye meri copies..." Kabir smiled a wide smile... The table top hardly touched his head, and he wants to sit on his chair... No point in arguing with him... The kid was adamant... Kabir huffed a huge breath, and walked to his chair muttering under his breath- "Zidd viraasat mein jo mili hai janaab ko...", he bent down and levered the chair up for his son's level, and kept his copies in front, sharpening up his pencil, instructing him what he needs to write in his homework, while he kept on feeding the kid his lunch...

It was early evening... Kabir walked out of his cabin to grab a cup of coffee... His eyes went straight to Ananya's cubicle and he stood at his spot watching... She sat with two cushions behind her back, legs spread in the best comfortable position she could afford with a bulging tummy, trying to concentrate on her work... Kabir couldn't help but feel nostalgic... 6 years and the life has changed so much for him, and even for Ananya... One and a half years after their marriage, and Ananya was expecting their first baby... Karan... Ananya couldn't help shed a few tears once in a while getting emotional about their little family... Though Kabir had really wanted a girl in the first place, but smiled the very instant taking Karan in his arms... No matter what, he was his child, his baby, his flesh and blood, a loving proof of his and Ananya's love... He couldn't ask for more... Ananya was ecstatic... They were blessed, happy and content... They managed to look after Karan, home as well job together... And were happily married... And almost four years after Karan's birth, here Ananya was expecting their second baby, and today is the last day in KKN for her before her Maternity leave begins... Pregnancy, Kabir smiled again... Though a blissful period for both of them, but let Kabir know what the highs and lows are so literally talked about... The crankiness, the OCDs, the mood swings, all had Kabir needing for a Paternity break along with his wife's Maternity leave... Her OCDs with smells were a huge issue these days... Every fragrance seemed intolerant to her... She wouldn't even let him use his perfumes near her, threatening to break all the bottles out on the main road... Kabir smiled again...

He came out of his thoughts and walked towards her cubicle... She was constantly rubbing her tummy settling the baby who must be having a rock concert inside... She seemed irritated... He bent down to look at the monitor she was looking so trying to concentrate on... She needed to write an article for Manav's Manav se Manavta tak show... They had the subject story of a couple who were separated out of misunderstandings... So much so that it had become a case of life and death... Ananya wasn't getting a great idea to patch them up, and here she was hell uneasy with the baby being restlessly active inside, making her cranky... Her friends too were trying to sort the article issue if not much... Kabir read the story aloud, seeking different options being discarded by his wife... "Hmmm... Kaise patch up ho...?" when Karan walked out of his father's cabin rubbing his eyes off after his nap, hearing his parents talk, when he suggested- "Boy girl ko sorry bolke kissie kar de toh problem solve ho jaayegi..."... Kabir, Ananya, Ronnie, Richa, Sunny and Trisha looked at the boy, and Richa smiled and asked just to have the baby talk- "Aapko kaise pata Mr. Karan?" she wriggled her eye brows... Karan smiled out of innocence and spoke- "Papa meri mummy ko aise hi manaate hain..." Ananya looked agape at her child, while Kabir just looked elsewhere to avoid glances, and their friends giggling, when the little boy added again- "Papa kehte hain, boys ki bhalaayi isi mein hai ke chaahe wrong koi bhi kare, sorry boys hi bolte hain... Hai na papa?" Karan looked at Kabir, while Ananya narrowed her eyes in mock anger, and the rest laughed out loud... Kabir gave a pained expression, while he rushed to his kid, picking him up saying- "Bhai tu toh marwaayega mujhe..." and he rushed to the canteen with Karan...

Ananya sat up on the hospital bed in a reclining position, taking her baby girl from the nurse's arm to feed her new born... While the little bundle was busy suckling on her, Ananya just dreamily looked at her baby's face... She remembered the sweet mock fight she and Kabir were having... With Kabir mocking anger on her like those "zulmi pati" that Ananya referred to who want a baby boy being gender biased... Instead Kabir was mocking anger and in a frolic mood held her arm and said- "Iss baar beti honi chahiye... Nahi hui na toh..." "Toh..."Ananya counter argued... "Toh... bas tum samajh lena..."... But Kabir couldn't hold on to that pseudo anger look, and gave away that warm smile that melted Ananya into a puddle every time... He had cupped her face and kissed her head, hugging her- "Kuch bhi ho... Bas healthy ho..." ... Ananya snuggled in his chest, but smiled again, and then asked- "Sach bataaiye Kabir, aren't you expecting a daughter this time?" and he just hugged her tight, nodding his head, but again explaining nothing matters to him, apart from a safe, healthy and sound baby...

Ananya came out of her thoughts at the click of the door knob... She adjusted the baby away from her chest to see Kabir coming in... The baby was already asleep after her tummy full... Kabir kissed Ananya's head, and right then took his second bundle of their joy in his desiring arms... Oh! His wish his dream... His baby girl... He nuzzled his nose on his baby's cheek kissing her very lightly... Ananya's parents and Kabir's mother walked in the room soon along with Armaan holding Karan's hand... And soon the room resounded with happiness, awes and love seeing the little one yawning every two minutes, and the protective brother Karan asking everyone to not touch his baby sister too much, as she is very tiny...

Anita ji, Ananya's mother looked at Kabir and Ananya and asked- "Naam socha hai kuch bachhi ka?"... Kabir smiled at her and looked both at Ananya and his mother, and then said- "Kamya" my desire, my wish, my dream, our baby girl... While Ananya smiled in satisfaction, the new name made Karan curious, mouthing his sister's name again and again... Not only did the baby, but her name seem so unfamiliar to him... And again and again calling it, he was trying to get used to it... Kabir bent down to his little boy, cradling in head in the crook of his elbow, kissing his head... The kid was adorable... Well, being adorable is something he has inherited from his mother...

Kabir sighed in satisfaction... Life was complete, family was complete... His little life, with the harsh pasts has turned into a blissful one, and softer, mellower futures waiting for them... His Miss. Kashyap is now not only the Mrs of the Sharma house, but the Lady of his heart forever...
