Today we saw one of the best episodes in the entire run of JA with a beautiful Shart scene. It will be unfortunate if we don't get a a chance to discuss, that is why in absence of Harshu, I will give a brief writeup of what happened-

Scene 1- The first confrontation of Jodha and Maham. The precious gifts are all there on the table and Maham comes over to hand a special wedding dress to Jodha. At that instant, Jodha goes into flashback mode and remembers all the misdeeds that Jalal and Mughals have done. She hurls the dress into the fire. Maham is furious and storms out of there.

Good acting by Paridhi, Jodha was really a fiery princess in this scene. And Maham got a taste of it.

Scene 2- Jalal sees the burnt dress and is livid. Rarely do we see him this angry. Everyone else wants to destroy Amer, but Jalal does not. He does not want to give the Ameris a chance for heroic sacrifice. He is determined though to marry Jodha and make her pay later for this insult.

Rajat was his usual imperial self. He looked the part, and his simmering anger could be felt by the audience.

Scene 3- Bharmal tries to convince Jodha. He is in a tough spot, he really believes that Jalal will destroy Amer if Jodha refuses. After seeing the bloodthirsty mob at Jalal's tent, his fear is justified. At that time Jalal did not agree for war, if he changed mind, destruction would follow.

Anyway Jodha is convinced. Really good acting by Bharmal as the desperate father and Jodha as the princess who finally reconciles herself to her fate.

Scene 4- The highlight of the episode. Bhagwandas goes to Jalal. There he is checked for security and Maham does not even return his namaste. Shows how much relations have deteriorated after the dress burning.

Anyway, Bhagwandas requests Jalal to come for the meeting with Jodha, he agrees. He comes there all swagger, everyone standing as approaches, all looking at him in awe. Jodha comes, and again Jalal has this strange expression as he looks at her.

Jodha puts forth her two demands. She thinks she has Jalal beaten. Our lion prances about, walking to and fro. Then he stops, looks her in the eye and says "Aapki Shatein bahut barhi hai Shezadi, par itni barhi nah Ki Hindustan ka Shehenshah, unhe poora na kar sake"

Then he sits down, repeats his acceptance. Gets up again and swaggers out of the room, his retinue following behind.

Checkmate Jalal. What a great scene. Rajat was fantastic, the expression and dialogue delivery perfect. Paridhi was wonderful too, the change in expression from confidence to desolation was worth watching.

Final Scene-Ladies sangeet. It was an emotional scene. Perhaps others can do better justice in describing it.

my take on that shart scene is bit different

powerpacked episode... both Pari and Rajat at their best...

I just wanted to hug Jo when she burned the dress... it felt like Maham and her so called guroor was burning with it...and Jo's this action was not out of just hatred for Jalal or Mughal...it was coz of the anger she feels coz of Maham's words...(did they showed it full or this scene was edited? coz at my place signal was not working properly, and the voice was going in btw, so it was like watching the episode in mute.. so I m just writing this remembering last time, coz even the voice on internet link is not working properly... )

and then both trying to crush eachother's egos... Jo challenging him and Jalal accepting her two conditions...though it looks like Jalal won this first battle, but later when he is talking with Maham, we can clearly see, that even though he kept on his Shehenshahi attitude in front of all with full power, but Jo has definitely given first blow to his ego...

just see the way he says that she was begging in front of him... but even he knows it very well, that Jo played her moves very well and he had no other options but to accept her conditions or accept his defeat... and though he is pampering his own ego, he is very well hurt by her perfect played move..

and even though Jo felt that she lost the first battle to him, but what she is not aware that she managed to provoke him to the extent that he has to be very keen in watching every move of her, else he will surely be cornered by this girl..

but anyway one thing is for sure, that once they r married, the wqay she will be loyal to him (even though she will not accept him), even none of his own ppl will be that loyal..

great update dojnas👏epi was a s usual awesome. Jodha was still in a shock and her anger fueled seeing the jewelleries jalal sent as it reminded her of how mughals vandalised the kali idol her putting the wedding dress on fire made maham go all ferocious where as amerians were hell scared, but jodha was atta girl👏maham adham sharif all confident that jalal will now destroy amer and jalal giving them googly after googly😆maham is fustrated as she cant predict the actions of jalal whom she claims to know so well, when it come to something related to the amer ki shehzadi. Jodha's plan was good, and jalal ke man me laddoo footing hearing jodha wants to meet him, I wish it was shown as the movie, only them in a tentbut i guess this is more realistic in that conservative era.but the scene was passionate charming royalistic at its best👏parijat creates magic at its best. The way both jalal jodha arrives, Jalal all mischievious and curious, jodha eager to act out her plan. Then jodha put her conditons fearlessly, and jalal after few moments of shock accepted them gracefully. To everyone outside it was jodha securing her religious beliefs and jalal accepting them, but both of them knew that it was much more. Jalal knew jodha wanted to evade the wedding by putting these conditions, and jodha knew jalal accepted because he didnt want her to win. But all in all, everyone is happy in amer as at least jodha will be able to lead a life she wants😛Maham is more happy as she thinks jodha will face all sorts of insults onc eshe arrives agra, poor maham will soon face a reality check😎ameri sisters trying to cheer up jodha was so sweet, it moistened my eyes as I also have an elder sister and right now she is in gujrat taking her job training , far away from me😭 dadisa's behaviour with suja was apt, she didnt pardon him instantly, but also couldnt be angry at the grandson who has played in her lapI love the character of dadisa.👏jalal thinks jodha is just a challenge for him,. which he will win and then forget, but little does he know, his feelings for her are much deeper than he can ever imagine, and one day, this jodha will be the one in his own words 'jise hum har pal muskurata hua dekhna chahte hai'kal shadi hai, bara maza anewala hai, 🥳

Wonderful scenes and magical tension between Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma.
I think the anger Jodha is caused not only memory about robbing the temple of Kali, but the words Mahamanga that tailor will dazzle and cut off his hands. For Jodha - every life is precious, she broke all the rules to save the bird and at Mughals - human life is worthless.

Thank you for your insightful response. Both Rajat and Paridhi gave a Scintillating performance today. Just one point though, I did not understand Jodha's anger towards Maham if that was what it was. There was nothing in what Maham said that should offend Jodha.

As for shart confrontation between a Jodha and Jalal, I will call it a draw. Jodha can claim victory that she forced Jalal to accept her conditions, but Jalal can claim victory too, that he saw through Jodha's ploy and did not allow to get out of the marriage commitment. This was the first of many such games the duo are going to play.

As for provoking Jalal, I believe it is not this incident, but the earlier one, "dress burning" that really infuriated him.

I liked your response a lot. Thank you.

Yes, the jewellery triggered off memories and Jodha went into fiery Tigress mode. Maham was shocked.

The shart scene was fantastic, so beautifully shot and enacted. The acting of both Rajat and Paridhi was superb. Jalal was all swagger and imperious, Jodha confident first, desolate later.

Dadisa is the wisest woman in Amer royal palace. She really knows how to deal with people.

Thanks for you response. Appreciate it.

I get your point but I still cannot understand why Jodha should get offended by Maham's words. What Maham said was matter of fact, she was just emphasizing how special that dress was.

The hands cut remark was unfortunate, but in that context it was not out of place and should not have offended anyone. She would have been disturbed by it, but not offended.

Maybe hear tone Mahamanga Jodha feels oneself just another doll, a toy that dress up on a whim of other person? It seems to me, exactly, tone, intonation and neglect in voice Mahamanga as she is said to humiliate Jodha, it was a "trigger", the last straw. I think it is not a denial of the wedding, and a gesture of despair and rejection of the whole situation. In the voice of Mahamana all the arrogance of a footman, who boasts that his master richer.

I think this makes perfect sense. The arrogant tone of Maham was the 'last straw', it triggered off memories of the bad things that the Mughals had done.
