k. in the first episode we come to know that karthik is bhau's cousin's(chacheri bhai I think) son. and shanti is his mad sister and their mom is also there. Bhau took these three in and educated the kids. He tells tayi to keep reminding Karthik's mom about the favor they did for Karthik's family.

about bhau being god. that's new to me too. I guess most of the people in the chawl work for bhau and he must have given them jobs when they needed it the most and saved their lives. Just my theory.

karthik loves bhau for his favor on the family. Karthik is not aware of the way tayi behaves with hi mother coz in front of everyone tayi shows fake love to her. Karthik also wants to become powerful like bhau so that he can earn money so that he can take care of his family. So he does everything bhau tells him to.
