Court is India's official entry to the Oscars this year!

The ground-breaking Marathi film that received a lot of critical acclaim this year is now on it's way to the Oscars as India's official entry!

First time director Chaitanya Tamhanhe's Marathi film Court, a National Award winner, was on Monday chosen as India's official entry for the 88th Academy Awards.

The news was confirmed to a source by Supran Sen, secretary general of the Film Federation of India, which selects the country's official entry in the Best Foreign Film category of the prestigious Oscars.

Veteran actor-filmmaker Amol Palekar was heading the jury for choosing the entry this year.

Court is about a trial which unfolds in a lower court, where the hopes and dreams of the city's ordinary people play out. It was named the National Film Award winner in the Best Feature Film category for 2014

Oh..I was rooting for Baahubali.

It won national award.I also didn't hear about it.Per India main kitni alag alag languages main film banti hai.Regional movies ke bare main kam hi jaan pate hain.

Does the committee visit IF? So many members here wanted this film for the official entry. But that's good, it means it's a deserving one.

Never heard of this movie till now.
