Part 4

Bala asked him to hold the baby.Unlike many people he can handle the new-born. A wave of nostalgia hit him when he lifted the newborn baby.He was transported back into time. He remembered Adi & Ruhi when they were born. The rush of being a new born's father came back to him.

When it was his first born he was excited but very apprehensive.He was so careful not wanting to do any mistakes.He tried learning as much as he could through internet and applied all those things. He knew nothing can beat the feeling when a new born looks trustingly at us.

He held the baby securely in his hands and cooed to her.He could see the contentment and peacefulness on Bala & Vandu's faces.It hit him straight in the heart. He wanted to share those feeling with Ishita. That contentedness of holding their newborn in their hands.

He knew Ishita denied the want to have a baby as they have Ruhi and she is enough.Ruhi is and will always be their love child, but he wanted to have a baby with Ishita so badly. Not to prove anything to anyone, just for the reason to hold their love in their hands.

He laughed at his thoughts.Ishita is not even looking properly at him and here he was thinking of convincing her to have a baby.He wanted to rush home and talk to her immediately.He didn't want to prolong this distance any longer.He reached his limit.He cant handle this anymore.

He congratulated Bala and Vandu again and rushed home to confront Ishita.

In the meanwhile Ishita at home prepared dinner for them.Appa also came home to take dinner to the hospital.She packed stuff and readied it for him.

The whole time she kept thinking about things. Hospital, the baby , Akka and Jiju's face all invoked the deep buried longing in her.She has Ruhi ...well whatever the court or anyone says Ruhi is her baby. But she didn't experience all the first things that she had the right to.Now she wanted all those things.She wanted to have a child with Raman.She don't need children to prove anything to anyone but she wanted to have a baby for herself.For her and Raman's happiness.As a symbol of their love.

But immediately her face fell.If Raman loves me, If Raman needs me...she thought.Her heart replied "Yes he does , you fool".She knew she pushed him away but in her heart she wanted him to break the barriers and fight for her.

The door bell rang.She called Appa, asked him to come and have dinner so that he can go to the hospital.

Shaking the melancholy she went and answered the door.Raman stood there.She stood rooted there at the door.No words were exchanged between them. Appa who came there saw him and invited him inside.

"Raman, why are you standing outside.Come in.I was about to call you. Since Amma and me would be in hospital we wanted you to come and stay with Ishita for today."Appa replied.

Ishtia looked up oscillating between Appa and Raman.She didn't knew that Appa thought of calling Raman.

She answered"No need Appa.I can stay alone.Adi is at home.Raman needs to be there with him."

Those words angered Raman even more.She herself is not inviting him or asking him to stay and on top of that she is not even allowing Appa to issue an invitation.

He looked sharply at Ishtia and replied"Don't worry Appa. Adi is with his grandmother and he is fine. I am planning to stay here,anyway whether some people like it or not."

Appa smiled thinking it as their usual banter."See it's decided.Come Raman let's eat.Ishita come let's all eat.But Raman you know its only vegetarian here."He winked.

Still looking at Ishita he answered"That's ok Appa.My wife is a veg so I am used to it. Atleast here someone is there to cook and serve , otherwise no one even cares whether I eat or not"

Her eyes narrowed at the accusation. Appa merely chuckled and went and sat at the dinning table.

Ishita arranged the food and sat with them to eat. The meal mostly went silent with Appa gushing about the new born baby and Raman & Ishita exchanging an occasional glance.Each wanted the other to start a conversation.

After dinner,Appa left for hospital.

Ishita cleaned everything up waiting for him to say something,while he stood there watching her.

Finally when she was done and when she was sure that he won't start anything she looked up and asked him to sleep in the hall and informed him that she will get pillows and blankets and went to her room.

He followed her and once inside he leaned on the door.

"You shouldn't have come here.I can sleep alone. I don't want to keep you away from Adi. I want you leave" When she was done talking she looked up at him gauging his reaction.

"Just like that..You want me to leave.Don't you want to sit and talk about things.You know Iam still your husband incase you don't remember" He asked

As if I can forget, she thought.Outwardly she sighed and replied"What is there to talk about?"

"Oh, I can think of hundred things right now, to start with the way you are avoiding me, the way you are escaping me."He glared at her.

"I was busy with the baby and stuff.Why are we arguing now.Iam so tired Raman.I need to sleep.Can you please leave me alone.I want you to go.Can't you atleast do that." She shouted.

He stood outside calming his breath. She has this uncanny ability to push him to the limit.

He remembered her insecurities.He remembered his promises to her.He knew she was pushing him because she was hurting.But for once he wanted her to grieve with him.He wanted them to be each others support system.

He took a deep breath , calmed himself and turned back.He didn't knock, he pushed the door slowly.He found her slumped against the wall, her face buried in her arms.

When she heard some noise, she looked up to see him staring at her.She quickly wiped her tears and stood up. "What are you doing here...?"

He came to her in two strides,grasped her by the shoulders, pulled her up and pressed her against the wall.Then he closed her mouth with his, hot and hungry. His kiss filled with all the hunger, frustration and need.

Her hands pulled his shirt tight and she tried to wriggle free but he didn't let her move an inch.After a lot of struggle ,finally she gave in and kissed him back.

He pulled his face looked into her eyes and demanded "Tell me I don't mean anything to you"

"This is nothing..." She stammered, trying to move out of his grip.

"The hell it is...How beautifully you lie" He pulled her to him.

"Why do you even care? What am I to you now. Iam not even Ishima.You don't need me anymore"With that outburst she began sobbing .

He pulled her close to him and held her tight.She burrowed into him and bawled.

When she finsihed crying, he gently moved her back and wiped her tears.He sat on the bed and pulled her onto his lap and held her close.

"Plz never say that again. When ever you think or say that it's an insult to us.To our relationship.To what all we achieved till now.I love you. You are Ishita to me first, my wife, the love of my life. Only after that Ishima the mother of my child comes. Whenever you say without Ruhi we have nothing, you are breaking my heart.It implies that I mean nothing to you other than as Ruhi's father"

She tightened her grip on him "Are you mad? You mean the world to me but without Ruhi I am afraid to lay my claim.I didn't know my place so I kept pushing you away. Iam so sorry. I love you so much that it hurts to be away form you.I was just passing on the days without actually living."

This time she pulled him close and buried her face into his neck.He pulled her onto him and taking her with him laid back on the bed.They both lay there for sometime each savoring the moment.

"I finally have some good news regarding Ruhi and that is the reason I couldn't come and meet you till now.Since I was the one who separated Ruhi from you, I wanted to be the one to bring her back."

He told her about his talks with the Judge and how the Judge has promised to get Ruhi and Adi back permanently.

Ishita was overwhelmed to hear this."Thank You so much for everything and once again Iam so sorry for all the pain I caused" She said looking deeply into his eyes.
