Agree... I too felt this was the reason... I also felt it was beautiful thing fates dealt him... He was hurting and was not really handling it well... Like throwing the ring... He needed a distraction to give him time to deal with his emotions... His frustrations... Something to channel his energies... And he found Dhani.
