Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

the story revolves round the bengali couple ashok & ashima ganguli and their son ....due to some dubious and funny situation the child comes to be known as gogol...but this pequliar name haunts him in his scooldays,adolescent age...and almost causes his marriage to be broken

so tell me guys whether anybody read this book or not???

I read the book and saw the movie. But I think I like the book better. I really like it. When I saw the movie I was kinda disappointed, but I think it was good though. Tabu did a great job.

I have read the book and was much impressed... There is a whole gamut of emotions one feels while reading the book ... and the beauty of it all is... we feel all those emotions and shift thru them... with such ease... that one wouldnt realize.... but yet at end, one is truly moved...

The movie...was good too, and I have seen it, but nothing close to the experience of reading the book itself!
