We all know what a fearsome weapon, an armoured elephant is. We have seen it in movies like Alexander and Jodha Akbar. Imagine now, that on the Elephant's back, instead of a man with bow and arrow, there sits a man with a cannon, who can blast you away from a long distance off.
Unbelievable, I too thought so. Then I saw this documentary-War in the Ancient World-Ep Ancient Tanks.
To add delight, I found that this weapon had an Indian origin. Who else, it was Akbar.
Just watch the first 10 minutes of this documentary and be amazed. I felt pride. Nowadays, every weapon we have came from either the Americans, the Russians or the French. But here we have a weapon system, total Indian, and totally devastating. In the episode it was called an ancient battle tank.
By the way, have a look at the portrait of Akbar shown in this episode. I have never seen this portrait before, and it looked beautiful, the colors were so life life, the jewellery really glimmered.
