Hello every1

None of u will b knowing me here

I am a regular viewer of the show, n sumtimes a critical viewer too

those on SH forum will know me quite well lolz

What I want to say here, is

Why aren't any of the girls frm MKG college participating in the dahi handi??

I mean, okay they came, they danced etc

but jab matki phodne ki baari ayi tho only the guyz

why's dat??

Wud love to see sonu also going n joining tapu so tht he is able to accomplish it

What do u guyz think??

Umm.. because traditionally only men do that. In this festival all the men represent the Gawalas and the women represent the gopis. As per the tradition the matki fodna is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his friends.The whole event is to mark Krishna's relationship with the gopis. The Matki in fact belongs to the gopis only. That's why ideally they don't join the team.

By the way GD society have tried women dahi handi festival in the past. Daya and her women gang did that years ago.
