More movies like Mardaani

I recently watched a crime patrol episode about child trafficking, it was quite thrilling and also an eye opener. I feel Bollywood lack movies in this genre. Mardaani was a good movie on this subject but one isnt enough. I think bigger superstars like Aamir,Akshay,Salman,Ajay,SRK should once get involved in an eye opening movie on a real issue that the world is tackling that would let audience know more. It would be the right of their star power.

I hope to see bollywood's superstars making a thriller over these type of subjects.

In Aamir's defense he did do TZP, his movie I am proudest of. The issue might not be as hard-hitting as Mardaani but it is more relevant in terms of sensitisation than we give it credit for. I have a friend whose daughter is autistic and her struggle is mind-boggling. I know of another couple who had an abortion when trisomy 21 was detected in the fetus because they didn't want their kid live in a world insensitive to those with special needs.

I do agree that these stars should take up more such films because they have the power to make them work with the audience. I am not saying they should only stick to this. I realise that at the end of the day, they are actors and want to entertain the audience as opposed to lecturing them. But it would be nice if they struck a balance so that their position can have a more substantial impact. At least something positive would come out of the celeb-worshipping in India. I mean Amitabh Bachchan's involvement with the pulse polio campaign actually eradicated the disease from the country, people got their children to take the drops just because he said so!

Mardaani was relevant and also had mainstream movie format and garnered the audience too. Wish biggies incorporate socially relevant topics to their movies..
