Time to introduce Bollywood Forum Awards to recognize excellence?

Are you tired of the award ceremonies? Strange Winners? And even stranger nominations list?

Each year, come December, the awards tamasha begins. First the Prasad Distribution Awards (Stardust, Big Star Entertainment), then followed by the older ones Screen, Apsara, Filmfare, National Awards and finally IIFA. BTW, Zee Cine Awards suddenly disappeared this year. I know no one noticed or shed tears 😆.

We have dedicated threads for each ceremony that end up going over 100 pages each discussing the "unfairness" blah blah... and how so and so should have been nominated and/or won.

Since each one of us is a passionate movie critic and have opinion, I thought it is the right time for us to formally have our own annual awards to recognize excellence. We can then compare our results with the opinions (nominations/winners) of the so called awards juries in the season. 😃

Bollywood Forum Awards 2015 (Tentative Title)

Scope: Hindi Movies released within 2015. Dubbed versions are OK too.

Award Categories:

Film
Directing
Acting

Actor & Actress in Leading Role
Actor & Actress in Supporting Role
Debuts (Male/Female)

Music

Music Director
Playback Singers (Male/Female)
Lyrics

Writing and technical categories

Story, Dialog, Screenplay
Editing, Cinematography, Choreography, Background Score
Make Up, Costumes etc

Voting: Use the polling system to identify the best of the year -

Polls will be set with the best options -

Up to 9 identified based on the quality (irrespective of Box Office) + "Other" option for members to identify their favorite choice not in the list
Top 5 votes in each category will become "Nominees"
Highest vote is the Winner of the category
If there is a tie, we will have a separate poll to break that. If fail, then we announce both as the Winner. 😆
