"Well?" murmured Dumbledore.

"Karkaroff's Mark is becoming darker too. He is panicking, he fears retribution; you know how much help he gave the Ministry after the Dark Lord fell." Snape looked sideways at Dumbledore's crooked-nosed profile. "Karkaroff intends to flee if the Mark burns."

"Does he?" said Dumbledore softly, as Fleur Delacour and Roger Davies came giggling in from the grounds. "And are you tempted to join him?"

"No," said Snape, his black eyes on Fleur's and Roger's retreating figures. "I am not such a coward."

"No," agreed Dumbledore. "You are a braver man by far than Igor Karkaroff. You know, I sometimes think we Sort too soon…"

He walked away, leaving Snape looking stricken…

WEll, do u guys too think that the Soring Hat sorted a bit too soon in Snape's Case. I mean I agree that he wanted to be in Slytherin, But dont u think the Soring Hat shud have seen the bravery thats deep within him...well if one person personifies that word, it has gotta be Snape😉

Yeah Snape wanted to be in Slytherin but remember the Sorting Hat Made a mistake unlike in Harry's case . Harry had some slytherin qualities n he din want to be in Slytherin but ultimately the Soring Hat made the right decision.
That wasnt the case for Snape...

How can you call that a wrong decision??? Harry wanted to be in Gryffindor but had a bit of Slytherin's qualities. And that was only coz of the Horcrux in him an all that.
But he wanted to be in Gryffindor. So he was placed there.

Snape wanted to be in Slytherin. So that's where he went.
And even now, after all these years, and looking at the books....you can see that Snape was a proud Slytherin till the very end. So how exactly is that a "wrong" decision per say?

Also....Snape can be very cruel and that is a fact from JKR's mouth. Snape was a horrible person to people in general(JKR). Also when he was a true DE, he committed plenty of atrocities under Voldemort...and am sure he st have killed too.
He was pretty horrible to Neville IMHO.

But he had a love and was loyal to that love. He strove to be faithful to that love and gave up his life for that love.

So...you can't make such bold statements about Snape coz he was a very complex character...he was cruel in general but ultimately he made the right choice in joining the OotP and was on the right side in the end. However...on a normal day he would be more han happy to give you two hours of detention!😆😆😆

^^^I understand that Snape is a very complex character and u better not try to understand him..lol..
N man I was just asking if it was just a hasty decision no bold statement 😆 😆 😆

Yes Snape WANTED to be in Slytherin, he was a proud Slytherin n all that no doubt...

what I was wondering is the amt of courage he showed and his dedication to Lily and Dumbledore that I dun think many slytherins may display
