Is it so easy to run away from oppression? women who end up in shelter homes live in miserable conditions not to mention the constant threat of being sexually exploited.

Dadisa and Ganga were exceptionally lucky women who managed to have fairy tale endings.

In t.v serials or movie, everyone has a better life when they run away. They all are lucky enough to get some good person to help them without needing much in return.
In real life its not so easy. You need guts, sharpness and some twisted morals to survive alone when you run away from home. Yes there might be few exceptions but it all depends on your luck. I don't want to sound regressive but the truth is that even girls with skill or talent face harshness when they run away from home to lead better life. There are barely 2 of 10 people who will acknowledge the skill and guts she has to face the world alone and help her. Otherwise most of them would try to take advantage of her!
That's one of the reason why i find it silly when people ask Nandini to run away or Mangala to give away Nandini or at least release her from Akhera's house. Akhera is a demon but outside world is no better and unfortunately no one can protect Nandini there. At least in Akhera's house, Mangala can help Nandini survive and protect her a bit.

Nice article. That is the fact of life.

Dadisa's story probably was a bit different for she never found a man to look after her and her two boys. She struggled alone. I think, it was not her, but her husband who amassed all the wealth. She said this once to little jagya.

But ganga's story was a complete fairytale story. Just imagine a mother with her toddler ran away from home without a penny and plans. She was pulled out of the bus by her husband's men, beaten up and left to die. And this incident had to happen just opposite BH in Jaitsar.😆

Jagya treated her in his hospital, brought her home, made her pass 10th without attending school or any coaching class, made her a qualified nurse in 6 months flat and eventually married her.😆 All this happened in about one year. In real life, such things don't happen.

After seeing ganga's success story, people also wanted mangala to run away from home with little nimboli 😆 and give her the same royal life that ganga managed to give mannu. 😆

Since she did not do that, she became a spineless selfish coward.😆

No, actually people expected Mangala to run with little Nimboli and land in SN. People expected Mangala to run because all roads lead to Jaitsar in this serial. If Mangala or Nimboli will run - it is expected that they will reach only Jaitsar and nowhere else.

Ganga attended Anandi's school and Jagya also used to teach her so saying she passed grade 10 without attending school or anyone to teach her blah blah people first need to watch the serial Yes Jagya has done a lot for Ganga Every thing he did i mean provided support to her in everything and he found the type of girl he always wanted who completes him he found that in her and married her too so does that make her story unreal ? Don't know why people on this forum expect this you become everything on your own you don't need anyone's support if Ganga go, t her story is made a fairy tale unreal Amazing In our lives many people influence us in many ways In every person 's life the God has made a support in one way or the other way because humen need each other to survive Mangala too will get a strong support to over turn Akhi's throw be it she gets it through the gang of girls Nimboli , Kamli and Urmi and added Anandi and jagya in to too I am sure then people won't be calling Mangala's story a fairy tale . unreal and laughing at it

A faith is God comes to help his people in one way or the other , if people are unfortunate He change their fortune and make them fortunate too Life have been too harsh on innocent Ganga since childhood God granted her with good life too It was reward of her good deeds so i don't call it simply luck or fairy tale story because if this would not be real no one would be having faith on God but people have because he helps and blesses his people so there is nothing fantasy tale in Ganga's story In fact these fairy tales that we read are also inspired by realities of life
Yes Ganga finally got lucky but we people here are lucky since childhood
regarding Mangala i will say we cannot compare her with Ganga Ganga at that time had to run away because if she won't be they would kill her at home so she took the chance if outside she could land in trouble then inside Ratan's house where she was safe. Ratan and his family were planning to kill her which she heard herself Akhiraj and his family dont want to kill Nimboli and Mangala Mangala knows how to protect her and Nimboli Why should Mangala run away to the future uncertainities She has found a way to protect herself and Nimboli too and so far she has been successful in that

Thanks for the article.
That article talks only about the pathetic conditions of state run welfare homes/shelters.

If those are in such condition it is the state machinery and government that has failed.

But why should this become deterrent for people who want to escape from oppressive conditions?

Just because state run welfare homes are in pathetic state does that mean all welfare homes and shelters for street kids and abandoned women are all pathetic?

If the state doesn't do it's job it is the responsibility of the people of the country to see to it that their elected representatives and government employees/officers like collectors who are paid by the tax payers to do ensure that they do their job.

Just because these welfare homes which are in bad shape weaker people have to stay in oppressive conditions and bear that abuse for ever?

What a fine argument to discourage people who live in pathetic /oppressive conditions from finding a better life for themselves 😛

After her 3rd pass, the woman who could not write mannu, attended anandi's school for 2 months and passed with 58% ?🤣
Then anandi's school must be creating geniuses.. Hats off to anandi.👍🏼

I don't think it is about government run institutions only. What about this?
http://www.hindustantimes.com/newdelhi/99-ngos-are-fraud-money-making-devices-hc/article1-1021701.aspx

Apparently, after the grand success of DS, DB and Ganga - this serial seems to e propagating the myth that running away from tough/oppressive conditions at home is best thing. Because none of the women in this serial landed in real mess - begging/exploitation and prostitution - 99% of women in real life will find themselves at these places only. Other one percent (may be not even sure that one percent women will get away from that fate) may lead a life that is even worse than their home from where they fled.

I have not seen even one story of a woman running like DS and Ganga and become very successful and happy.

i think 3rd class pass woman studied for 3-4 months b4 joining Aji school. Aji helping ganga in writing Mannu's name was a blooper bcoz ganga knew much more than that bcoz she set nandu's bag according 2 his subject by reading name of subjects on the note books. and ganga was only shown passing in 2nd division unlike sum1 who studied for few months widout going 2 regular school even 4 few months but topped the state board.
and 58% r not so gud marks .its still 2nd divison.and moreover i'd seen in reality 3rd/5th/8th class pass ppl passing 10th class widout going 2 school even 4 few months while attending their jobs like ofc etc & that 2 in 2nd division. so its not a big deal.

and yes Aji's schoolis churning out genuis afterall it was started by a genius. who widout attending the school topped state board wid in few months of starting her studies wid so much household work 2 do alongwid her social service & also tackling wid he r prsnl loss.😛
