SHILLONG, Sept 24: Stunned and shocked at the 'defeat' of their "Brand Ambassador" and singing sensation Amit Paul, Shillongites have graciously accepted the verdict, but are bound to proclaim him 'hero' of the State after he was voted runner-up in the music talent hunt, Indian Idol.
Amit's younger sister Meenakshi Paul, who did not accompany her parents to the Indian Idol finale at New Delhi, said, "Let us celebrate. We have no reason to mourn. My brother created history by winning the hearts of millions which is a far greater achievement. He is the true idol."
