You know that's a very good question. Suddenly I think if Aamir Khan ever did such a role I would watch it. The more I think about it the more I think I was projecting my own opinions about the abilities of everyone involved in this project to be able to handle this. That is my bad.
Mansoon Wedding tackled this issue and I enjoyed watching that movie, but that really isn't a Bollywood movie. Karan Johar is a no no here. I'm not sure about Gauri. As much as I liked EV I thought the ending of it was kind of filmy with the husband and the daughter suddenly realizing their mistakes and everyone becoming one big loving family. She absolutely cannot do that with an offender and a victim of sexual abuse. I'm not even sure about SRK. I know you guys will disagree but I feel like he might play it as a larger than life villain or a victim of his own mind. But once again that is dependent on script and direction.
Has rape ever been handled sensitively or even right in Bollywood movies? I don't think I have ever seen it. From my observations it's always happened as a plot point to emphasize how bad the already and guy was or to have the girl cry over having lost her izaat and how she and her family can no longer face anyone. So overall Bollywood has not garnered my faith and trust in being able to handle such a topic.
