In a city known to welcome people from across the
globe with open arms, actor Aly Goni, who currently
features in 'Ye Hai Mohabbatein', is finding it difficult
to get a house on rent as he is a Kashmiri Muslim.
The actor moved to the city a couple of years ago and
after failing to find a place for himself, he decided to
stay with his cousin. But even two years down the
line, nothing has changed. "I am sure every house has
a TV and people watch us for entertainment. So why
is it so difficult for an actor to rent a flat in Mumbai?
Is it a crime to be born in Kashmir?

We have the same documents, have the same
passport, same voter card and same pan card. Then
why do we have to face this discrimination? Not
letting someone rent a house anywhere in the country
is undemocratic. I am heartbroken that I am looked
down upon as a threat to the society just because I
am a Kashmiri Muslim."'

As a Muslim it is disgusting that this still goes on especially in India where the second highest religion is Islam. Also a lot of the top actor in Bollywood are Muslims absolutely pathetic

So the whole cast and crew of yhm should be on high alert whenever Aly comes to work? Hw probably spends more time at work than he does in his "home".

This attitude CAN be helped. This is racism and prejiduce. Yes some ruin it for others but to lump everyone of a certain ethnicity anf religion into one group is wrong and very backwards. He has referneces , has a stable job and clean background. On what basis are they refusing his rental application? Hes not somebody who just crawled out of a whole yday and has no background check to speak of. If people let fear control them like this, the real bad guys win

People take advantage as country is secular

There is no person in there right mind who will rent accommodation to some one from kashmir that easily as many of them misused this n did terrorism if u read newspaper u might have known
