Ravan had many wives. The names of not all the wives are given in scriptures. But the scriptures clearly say that he had many wives. Mandodari was the most important of all. One wife other than Mandodari was Dhanyamalini. Sita was not giving into Ravan's advances. One day Ravan got very angry and threatened Sita that he would kill her. Then Dhanyamalini pleaded with him to clam down.

i've never heard that Ravan had a wife named Chitrangadha.......I have heard of Mandodari and Dhanyamalini......

Also, I haven't heard of Chitragadha being Arjun's wife either........as far as I know.....Arjun had two wives...........Draupadi and Subadhra...

Yes, that is correct. In scriptures of Hinduism, Chitrangada is not named as a wife of Ravan. But it is mentioned that Ravan had some wives from Gandharvas. May be the creatives wanted to keep some name for a Gandharva wife of Ravan and they kept name as Chitrangada. Or, it is also possible that in some version of Ramayan, the name Chitrangada is really used. After all, there are so many versions of Ramayan in the world.

Michael Madhusudan Dutt's Meghnadbadh Kavya mentions Chitrangada as one of Ravan's wives and the mother of their son Virabahu. In fact the book starts with Virabahu's death. I am not sure but I think his source for this was Krittivas' Bengali Ramayan. I don't have the Bengali Ramayan with me now so I can't confirm if it was indeed Madhusudan's source for this character. 🤔

Yes, Chitrangada finds mention in Madhisudan Dutt's play "Meghnad Badh Kabya". Madhusudan Dutt was a Bengali playright, who liked everything western. He wrote this play about 18 decades back. In that, he has depicted Meghnad as a hero.

The name Chitrangada finds mention as a wife of Arjun. This name also finds mention as a son of Satyavati and the gandharva who killed him. But pronunciations are different.

Chitrangada(when referred to Arjun's wife) is pronounced as
Chitraangadaa

Chitrangada(when referred to son of Satyavati or to the gandharva who killed him) is pronounced as
Chitraangada

The difference is that in the name of Arjun's wife, the last 'a' is long 'a' and in other two, the last 'a' is short 'a'.
In Lord Rama also, the last a is short a and the pronunciation is Raama. But now-a-days people pronounce Raam because the last vowel 'a' is clipped. Accodingly the name of Satyavati's son will be pronounced as Chitraangad. The name of the gandharv who killed him in a war that lasted three years also will be pronounced the same way.
