Welcome to the forum Amrutha and wonderful post. You have echoed my sentiments in every point, esp the point about Abeer toning down the hilarity and upping the intensity. But thankfully in this track Abeers intense side is coming out slowly but surely. And you also find similarities between Kashaf and Mehar! One obvious similarity is their fathers deserting them and the resulting maturity and sense of responsibility they both share. But besides that the strength of their characters, their faith in themselves to shape their own destiny without depending upon anyone else is also similar. Kashaf was one of the most realistic characters for me and the one which I admired and identified myself with a lot. And I can comfortably say the same about Mehar. She is probably the best female character I have come across on Indian TV and she has her own spark and identity too. I feel more protective of her with each passing dayš
Thank you, and well said!š The first couple of times, it didn't strike me, but it became more and more obvious- the similarities b/w Kashaf and Meher. Kashaf is hands down my favorite female TV character. So relatable, and it was remarkable how she struck a chord with urban, educated women like us. Her strong sense of self, her aspirations, her dynamic with Zaroon and the way they negotiated their gender roles- I HEART Kashaf and ZGHš³ So unlike the eternally crying bahus on TV. It's good to see Meher cast in that mould, very refreshing. The difference perhaps is that while Kashaf came around to the idea of happiness with her partner, there is some residual bitterness in Meher.I think the humor works most of the time because it keeps things pleasant, and I am wary of other shows where heroes manhandle heroines in the name of "romance". My kind of intensity is where some deep-rooted conflicts are thrashed out, where they talk out their differences. This track is a blessing because it has paved the way for that. It's good to see Abeer realizing that Meher isn't exactly serene after the break-up, and was scarred terribly by the divorce, just as he was. And how respectful he is of her, how considerate, both of her personal safety and her emotions. It's very endearing.
