Hello to my fellow Mehbeerians, new fan here. I am Amruthaš
So I thought I would just begin by posting some of my thoughts on the show.
Honestly, I had zero expectations of this show from the promos- it seemed like the same old run of the mill stuff about angsty young men and petite, delicate heroines. How wrong was I!š
Man, this show is something else altogether!š³
The theme itself is so fascinating- rather than unfolding the saga of a couple who fall in love, what we have here is two people, who were married at one point, deeply in love with each other. But circumstances drove them to get a divorce. So what happens when the twain shall meet...again? Awesome stuff, I tell you. š
It's particularly brilliant in terms of the narrative- the present is intermixed with the events of the past. It keeps us on our toes to find out what exactly went wrong with these two, who are clearly meant for each other.
It seems to me that a part of the problem seems to be the people who surround the couple- the two fathers and Bua for instance. But a major part seems to have been played by Abeer and Meher themselves. Clearly the two are different as chalk and cheese, and this clash of personalities, the differences in their aspirations must have been the root cause of the problem.

So some of my observations about the show to me are-
1. Pearl and Asmita- they portray their parts very well, so good job, guys! They were a little flat in the beginning, to be honest, but they've settled in rather well, and I can't imagine anyone else now.Kudos to the entire cast, they are terrific!Especially Meher's mom, the actress makes me feel that she is really Meher's mom. And the chemistry b/w Abeer and Meher-
2. The intrigue- Again, the suspense about the alimony, and other misunderstandings. My theory is that Meher took the money to establish Abeer's career, because they might have been having financial difficulties in their marriage. And Abeer might have become embittered by not getting a break in his music career, while Meher was succeeding in hers- something that might have driven them apart.
3. At this point it seems to me that the feelings are intact, but a huge difference will be played by the fact that they're older, and hopefully more mature. But the bitterness is possibly compounded by the passing years. Meher's dialogue about a lot having happened in these 8 years worries me in particular. Yet, there is still hope because Abeer, despite saying at every possible opportunity that Meher is a gold-digger, seems to thrive on her presence in his life. His antics, his taunts, his sarcasm, his music- everything is centred around her. It's pretty obvious that he's not over her. It's so endearing to see.
4. The two mothers who dote on their respective child's spouse- so refreshing!
5. Strong female protagonist, with a career, self-reliant, and independent- on Indian TV, no less; can we just say- HALLELUJAH!!!āļø She reminds me a lot of Kashaf from ZGH- the diary writing, the same attitude- but still, there's something different about her.š
6.Abeer's wacky personality, his lovely music, and his awesome one-linersā¤ļø Darshan's song for Abeer in particular- leaves me D.E.A.D.š³
7. Twist in the tale- It's apparent that Meher is hiding something, something big. Is it about a child- her's and Abeer's? Did she take the money, or is it to do with that useless father of hers?
8. Now for the minuses. As much as I enjoy Abeer's sense of humor, I think they need to tone down the hilarity and tone up the intensity in some scenes. I want more "serious" scenes where they point the swords at each other and confront the other about the things that went wrong in the marriage. But I think the humor is Abeer's way of dealing with what he presumes to be Meher's betrayal. He constantly takes digs at her through his jokes and one-liners. I guess that's his way of dealing with it.
And I don't like Nisaar- Rati pairing too. The guy's a sweetheart, while she appears to be borderline psychotic. But I guess some conflicts have to be established b/w the jigari dosts, so it's fineš

And... this is a besharam request from me. Clearly these two were married to each other, for 6 months. So i am guessing they did not live the life of a say, Ahem-Gopi or the eternally deprived Raman- Ishita who made love after what seemed like an epoch to the viewers. I would never believe in a platonic romance b/w the two, especially considering Abeer's naughtinessš³
And it's been 8 years, and I can safely assume that they were so caught up with each other that they couldn't attach themselves to another. That's a LOOONNNGGG dry spellšš³š
So I'd like more scenes where they are aware of each other, of their attraction, of their ex-spouse's attractiveness, and the frissons of...Ahem, let me stop there. šš

Predictions/Hopes for future tracks-
1. A fiance for Meher, IDK i feel Bua will now plan Meher's second marriage after learning in today's episode of how she sacrificed her happiness for her family.
2. Meher will probably be hurt by Pinky Bhau, refusing to reveal where Abeer is, causing him to introspect on whether she really did leave him for money. Hope to see some intense scenes following.
