Chapter 5Geet tossed and turned in her bed.She kept thinking what her future had in store for her. She was in such a situation that she had to visit Khurana Mansion once even if the thought of that dusht danav made her apprehensive, " Geet what'll happen when he will see you in his house? He will probably throw you out...nooo...why why why? why his house and not somebody else's?" she rued and whined.
She got up and turned on the bed side lamp and took out a diary from the drawer. It contained all the job offers which she had short listed. She put a strike against the Khurana Company's offer, half with anger and half with sadness. The only offer which would have solved her financial problem to a great extent. The next offer was a call center job. She decided to give it a shot. "Okay so tomorrow I'll first go to the interview and then visit Khurana Mansion".
The following morning Geet got up early. She settled her things and prayed to God, "Babaji please let this day be a new beginning in my life. I know you are always with me. Please Bababji help me to stay strong and endure all the hardships that will come on my way".
Pinky accompanied her to the interview again though Geet had repeatedly protested but her aunt and Pinky were both adamant and refused to send her alone as she was new in the city. "Pinky will I get this job?" Geet sounded nervous. Pinky replied cheerfully, "Why not? After all you're so talkative.You're absolutely fit for this job?" Geet giggled .
Geet had tears in her eyes when she came out of the interview room. "What happened Geet? Are...are you alright? What did they say? Please tell me?" Pinky was anxious and upset. Geet said," I got the job". in an almost inaudible voice, tears rolling down her cheeks. Pinky squealed and hugged her, "Oh my gosh!!!!I knew it. I'm sooo very happy for you".
Geet too was happy. She thanked God silently. Now that she had a way to earn her living she had one more job to do and that is visit Khurana mansion.
Pinky gave her the direction as she had to go for an urgent meeting. Geet reassured her that she'll be alright and will call her when she reaches there. When she did finally reach the place she was dumbstruck by the huge mansion that stood proudly in front of her. "MY God, is this a palace?" Geet mumbled to herself.
"What do you want?" asked the guard. Geet showed him the newspaper cutting of the ad that was given. "Wait here?" the guard said sternly. Geet nodded. After a few minutes he came back and said, "Mrs. Khurana is busy now but she said that you can come with your things and stay here from tomorrow". Geet smiled and thanked him.
She informed her aunt and Pinky about it as soon as she reached home. She couldn't beleieve evrything was happening so smoothly but uneasy thought lurked at the back of her mind which made her a bit worried, "What would happen when I will have to meet that dusht danav?" She did not know neither she wished to ruin her present happiness with this unhappy thought.
