Shreya

Ok, now Shreya is not my favorite character. I mean she is doing some really horrible things. I rewatched the episodes from the beginning and I think I understand her a bit more. Shreya was not a bad person, spoilt, yes but not bad. Her change in behavior is because of two people, her mother and Bushan. When Shreya came to pethewala house she did not know how to take care of such a big family. She was use to thinking about herself since she was an only child. Then she had to live with this huge family who don't even know how to think about themselves alone. It is my opinion that she was not given enough time to fully adjust. Yes the family was very loving to her but the person she needed the most to understand her and be there for her wasn't. Bushan was not very fair to his wife. He expected her to be like Vinati, but Shreya has a completely different background from vinati and expecting such a big personality change so quickly was not very fair to her. Also telling her to try to be more like vinati was not gonna help. He was her husband, they courted for two years and he could not get that she coludnt just switch into vinati mode. When she made a mistake he was the hardest on her. She expected him to be there for her but instead he scolded her. It is very hard for a someone to come into a family that is not their own and make it theirs. Especially someone with a lifestyle that was very different from theirs. Yes Shreya had many misunderstandings, but they were because of her insecurities of not being able to be the Babhi they wanted and because of her mother, who instead of telling her to have some patience told her that she was not wrong and blamed everyone else. Now none of this excuses everything wrong she has done since then but all I am saying is that I understand why she thinks she should be doing it. She believes it is the family that caused them to separate the first time and no matter what she does she can never measure up to Vanati and in her mind the only way to rectify that is to have a family without Vinati. I must say that I am really curious to see how they redeem her, because to do that she will have to deal with her insecurities, which can only be done if Bushan really takes the time to understand his wife. I think Bushan is the key to any redemption Shreya may have. He has to love Shreya for who she is and help her adjust with understanding and compassion, not comparing her to other family members. She also needs to stop listening to her mother!!! Until then we will have to endure her plotting and her evil annoying smirks, but every serial needs a villain.
