you are absolutely right. Dev and GC are necessary grey negative characters, that will help the story move forward. dev is under a server misunderstanding, and is out for revenge against sneha and her family by extension.
GC old fashion ideas and autocratic prejudice nature is enough to bring plenty of conflict in the lead characters ie Amaya/ mantu and Rama/ rachita lives. due to the generation gape and opposite ideologies.
and there is still still scope fro both characters to redeem themselves.
rudra and his mother to are necessary, not only for their comic relief, in their lopsided plotting. but they also have the potential to go completely dark and be without redemption, as their motives does not stem from misunderstanding but and envy and hatred, both these characters or at least rudra can only end up in jail.
uma was ok as the hero's best friend, but even here her character is unnecessary. they should have had a old maid or aunt, that would have been better.
but this college going girl cooking and cleaning the hero's house, even if she is his best friend. doesn't make sense. isn't she suppose to be in college, i remember in one of the first few episodes she did mention she was going to college. jazz goes to school, uma seem to have just dropped out, and nobody cares.
anyways to now turn her into this truly negative vampish character us unnecessary and defeats the purpose. as amaya and mantu are the leads of the show. and are bound to end up together.
i don't understand why so many produces/ CV get inspired by ekta vamps. why do the same thing over and over again. its so bland and unoriginal. and can be avoidable
rama mom would also be be a nice character for comic relief as the odd old gupta couple. and she doesn't need to be converted into a vamp
