Alia Bhatt will be starring in Gauri Shinde's next movie! Earlier it was speculated that Katrina Kaifis being considered for the leading role in the movie but now reports confirm that she is out and instead, Alia Bhatt has been roped in as the protagonist. The English Vinglish fame Gauri Shinde became a breakout star post the Sridevi film but post that she hasn't directed any movies.

We hear that Alia's mentor Karan Johar has decided to produce this film of Gauri Shinde's. A source close to the film suggests, "Karan asked Gauri if she has an actress in mind and they both agreed on Alia. KJo is instrumental in making career choices for Alia ever since the two worked on Student Of The Year. There will be three newcomers opposite Alia in the film as is the nature of the script, but they are yet to finalise the names."

DNA had reported that when Gauri was in talks with Kat for the role she asked her to go deglam for the role. Another source had revealed, "English Vinglish happened because Gauri pursued Sri and convinced her to make a comeback. Similarly, she is trying to convince Kat to go totally deglam for her film. Kat too, has liked the script and right now, the modalities like dates, schedules, remuneration, etc are being worked out." Turns out Kat was not meant for the part and it has now gone to Alia.

The film is likely to go on floors next year as Alia is currently busy shooting for Kapoor and Sons.
