Amit Paul should win," says the impressively forthright Indian Idol 3 presenter Hussain Kuwajerwala. It's no wonder he's one of the top presenters on television today—he has got the look, the commanding voice and the personality that's appeals to both the classes and the masses.

His fans span countries and are an interesting mix of soap-devoted ladies, the college-going clan, and even kids as young as three who call him Sumit uncle (referring to his character in Kumkum). Whether a fan or not, one can't deny the energy, fun, and genuine warmth that Hussain brings to the show. Excerpts from a chat with the busy actor-presenter.

This week will see the new Indian Idol being declared. Who do you think deserves to win?

I think both the finalists are good, but if I had to pick one, it would definitely be Amit. I've always maintained that from the start.

When were you offered Indian Idol 3?

That was around the time I had finished Nach Baliye. I've always liked the show and was excited to take up the offer—more so because it revolved around music.

You've hosted a myriad shows. Was there anything different about hosting this one?

hussain has good taste 😛 he also hoped for an emon-amit final like other music lovers. anyway, i think hussain has always been very supportive of amit, and it's nice to see that he was honest with his opinion when asked who really deserves to win.

it was a known fact to everybody after the last gala when asking for judges comments after the tanhayee song! so now he has spoken and mini is still trying to be diplomatic ? its not wrong that they want a particular contestant to win but its disappointing when they are hosting the show...

What do your fans have to say about your hosting Indian Idol 3?

I don't know, I would much rather concentrate on my work. My wife Tina, who's a fashion designer, keeps checking out fans' reactions on the Internet and updates me on the interesting things that are being said.

This means he is also biased like other judges.
If Amit becomes Indian Idol even after forgetting so many songs, it will be like topping the exam even after forgetting to write answers to some questions whereas other people giving same exam have excelled in answering all the questions.
This will be utter injustice to Prashant.

Any sane person, listening to both can judge who is the better of the two.

So far, below is best unbiased answer I have read in one of the Anu Malik's recent interview.

Anu's opinion, both Amit and Prashant are equally good singers. "Prashant is very good at low notes while Amit can handle high notes very well with his high-octane voice. I can't say one is better than the other. Both are equally good enough to win the title and it is going to be a tough and very close fight between the two," says Anu, adding, "Prashant has worked really hard to get here and I will not be disappointed if he is the next Indian Idol."

This is the kind of answers the judges and hosts should be giving at this time of the competition... they should be pointing out in what category the singers are strong... on a particular gala round the judges have the rights to comments according to what they felt by not showing biasness. These public figures should not represent one contestant when the voting is going on... they should be more diplomatic so that, fans who love the contestants don't fight among themselves.
